Excellent stain for exterior and interior. Used mahogany on rough sawn cedar and it worked great.

I got the sample kit from local paint shop. Ready Seal sells it on line too. I originally picked redwood but after the samples decided on mahogany for a less orange and deeper color. Before I stained, I washed the fence with 30 second cleaner.. works great.. The first coat coat soaked up the color on the old untreated redwood. The second coat became deeper and looked really nice once dry. I used a roller most of the fence and touched up the corners with a brush. Used a 5 gallon can and still have some left over, only painted one side of the house fence so far.

This stain has fairly good coverage. It did require 2 coats as wood was very dry. Used 4.5 gallons to cover 12ftX24ft area pergola. I would use it again.

It was definitely goof proof! It was so easy to apply that me and my teenage sons were able to do it. It is a very beautiful color and I am very happy with the results.

I am coating a log cabin I tore down and I am rebuilding from the 60's. The logs are old and I am using a Wagner sprayer. It took 3 coats but the product covered really better than I expected and after the first storm you could tell they were well protected.

This product was easy to apply and clean up. Super pleased with the coverage and look. I would highly recommend!

I've been using Flood UV stain and wanted to try something different and darker. I am very happy that I switched and am completely satisfied with the results and, in fact, I just ordered a 5-gallon can of Ready Seal Mahogany. (To my surprise, Home Depot can deliver the huge can for free). I could spread out the satin and 1 gallon covered a significant area. It has a darker color, but at the same time, it accentuates wood grain and the board pattern appears very beautifully. It repels water, mold, and bugs very well.

I've been a painting contractor for over 40 years. That being said... Ready seal is by far the best penetrating stain and sealer I've ever used, period. The only problem I see with ready seal is my ability to get my hands on it! It's hard to find in a lot of Home Depots.

This product was so easy to work with. Clean up was a breeze. I was concerned about the mess that some oil based stains can cause but this stuff was a dream. Frequently stirred the product and mixed it with other containers to maintain a consistent color across 285 linear feet of 4 foot high shadow box Cedar fence. Used the Ready Seal recommended tip for a Graco sprayer and was impressed with the coverage it provided. Not to heavy not to light.

I have used this on a couple of projects and each one has demonstrated how simple this is to use. Here is a picture of the last project, a patio deck that was redone.

This was what I was looking for, and when it was applied, it went beyond my expectation!!! Will be buying this product for this project everytime.

Excellent product. Went on easy… did our whole deck, about 1000sq/ft, in less than a single afternoon. Railings and all. The color is amazing… made an old deck look new again! Couldn’t recommend this product more.

Amazing results, with very little effort. We'll see how long these results will last, but so far I'm impressed.

The best I ever had

I applied a heavy coat of Ready Seal and with that I did not need a second coat. Easy to use, easy to clean up. Love the finish on my fence. Lots of compliments from those passing. Took more than I expected which was probably because of the extra heavy application. I give it great marks. Anyone can do this with a little work. Notice the fence to the right of the garage.

Looks good but one/two layer is not enough

This was the easiest stain I have used so far. I stained cedar and pine and it was thin enough to go through my Wagner pro airless sprayer (2200psi). The last time I used it with stain Flood it just sputtered and spit and I had to hand brush the fence about 12 years ago, not fun. Ready stain was so easy to use pours nice into the canister. This stain contains no linseed oil so that is a good thing I wouldn't want to set my trash cans on fire. Now the cons; has nothing to do with the stain but more the sprayer. I had to refill the quart container often like twice per panel and because of the over spray it was messy on the gun and dripped on the canister which had to be wiped off in order to refill the canister (very slippery). The other thing is the wind, my bad its Oklahoma its always windy; just pick a day that is calmer you will be fine. Use a head sock and mask as well because it doesn't taste good, so masks please. I used Mahogany because I love the rich color, plus the base is red which is my favorite color. As you can see in the photos my son and I built this fence from scratch 13 panels, on cooler days of course. I have attached a few pics you be the judge. We don't do this for a living so if you see my mistakes oh well so did my wife, and she already let me know, cheers and Semper Fi.

I've used Ready Seal several times and it works very well. It goes on very easy and lasts 2-3 years in full-sun in the north east. The first time you apply definitely purchase extra as the wood generally will soak it up. Subsequent applications typically dont require as much, but apply 2 coats withing 45 minutes of each other.

After replacing all of the flooring on my deck last summer, I let it season a year and then stained it. While the coloration of the new wood was significantly darker than the old wood, it looked like it was intentional two toning. The wife is happy. If I had one complaint, it was that I ran out of the first 5 gallons and had to place a second internet order, since H Depot does not keep this in stock in Louisville, KY. and wait a week to finish the project. H Depot should stock this brand and not that Olympic stuff.

We wanted a product made in the USA, and we are SO happy with this stain for many reasons. The color online was exactly the same as the real product. The stains goes on evenly and dries quickly. For our shadowbox fence, I used a 4" roller and a 2" brush. Ready Seal - Great product!
