Will this work on a slanted ceiling wall?

Asked by: bmckinzie
Not likely. The rod is under tension and the top and bottom feet are meant for a flat floor/ceiling setting.

Is anyone who purchased this caddy in 2012 or 2013 still using this caddy as of July 2015?

If so, how is it holding up? Has the aluminum oxidized or the stainless steel rusted? Has the pole ever fallen? Have any baskets broken or fallen off the pole? Has any of the wire used for the baskets become unwelded? Thanks
Asked by: bystander22
Yes. The chrome shelves have all started to rust, but the brushed aluminum looks fine.

Customer Reviews

Tension Shower Caddy in Aluminum and Stainless Steel is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adjust the shelves where you want them. Stainless Steel is much better than chrome-plated steel.... Adjust the shelves where you want them. Stainless Steel is much better than chrome-plated steel. Chrome starts out looking good, but soon rust starts making the chrome flake off. This aluminum and stainless model is what these caddies should be like. Only complaint it that I wish you could get extra razor holders. Maybe you can, but I couldn't find them on Simplehuman's web site.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Overpriced but missing features I bought this caddy from Home Depot in December 2012 after having ordered the less expensive (but since removed) one made of stainless steel and aluminum but with plastic trays. Personally, I think I would have rather had the other type. With this caddy, there are no trays so when the wire shelves get soap/shampoo dried on them, you have to remove all shelves above the one you want to remove and wash the dirty one. Poor design. In addition, the thick wire shelves don't hold smaller bottles (like travel size ones) very well as the spacing between wires is large. Also, don't be fooled by the ability to keep bottles upside down for dispensing. That only works if they are just the right size for the neck to fit in the holes and not too unstable to simply tip over. Considering the price of $129, it is not worth the money. A less expensive stainless steel and/or aluminum one should be sought out if you want one that won't rust. Or you can simply buy a regular inexpensive one at 1/4 the price and replace it 3 times when it rusts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A high-end, high-priced shower caddy Having gone through my fair share of cheap shower caddies that rusted through almost immediately, and needing something that offered more space and could be mounted somewhere other than on the showerhead, I turned to SimpleHuman, which in my experience makes very high quality, long-lasting home accessories, at relatively high prices. I have not been disappointed in this shower caddy. Assuming the claim of being rust-proof is true, and given the 5-year warranty, I expect to use this for years to come. The extra space it offers over a standard shower caddy is nothing short of impressive. I actually mounted it in a bathtub, not a standing shower, and because it offers a range of length options (with extensions if necessary to reach high ceilings), I was able to easily mount it between the rim of the bathtub and the ceiling. Note that due to its size and the need to compress the high-tension spring, it is not the easiest item to install. It may be a two-person operation in some cases.
