It works very well. The bag fills up in about a week. Only wish it came with ALL the parts needed. I had to purchase the metal hanging stake separately.

I was not sure I needed this product, but a neighbor had lost all his trees due to an infestation of Japanese Beetles. I did not see any on my property, but took a chance. I put these up approximately 100 feet apart near the perimeter of my property (2+ acres) and within 5 days the bags were FULL! Those beetles would have wreaked havoc on my property. Currently using the refill bags that came with them and will soon head to Home Depot for additional replacement bags. The cost of replacement trees vs the insignificant price of these bags and holders are well worth it!

Hung it up near my pole beans and within a few days the bag started to get heavy with Japanese beetles and my bean leaves looked a lot less like Swiss cheese.

I've used Japanese Beetle Traps every year for the last 15 (since we moved to our house). I always used the Safer Brand (purchased at Ace Hardware) - always set them up in the same location - worked like a charm.
This year I was at Home Depot buying some other products, saw these, and purchased them purely out of convenience. What a disappointment! My poor rose bushes! I've never seen so many Japanese beetles on one poor bush - every leaf had at least two on them; the blossoms had at least a dozen per bloom. THE TRAP WAS ABOUT 10 YARDS AWAY! And I just changed the lure this morning.
The odor of the Safer Brand is much stronger even when it's been out for a while compared to these, which tells you how ineffective the Bag-a-Bug is. We only have a few months of good summer weather here and I don't want my beautiful roses, geraniums and other flowers eaten alive by these pests. I'll never buy these again..
