Rated 5 out of 5Â by Katey GREAT PRODUCT
The Quick-Mounting System was wonderful. My husband is 75 years old. With a little help from a neighbor, they had the old garbage disposal out and the new one installed. It took less than an hour and a half. Everything matched up PERFECTLY. If I had known how easy it was to install this garbage disposal, I would have bought it a year ago. Instead, Iâve been using a wooden spoon to jump start mine, every time I wanted to use it. This garbage disposal is strong and quiet. Great product. Thank youâ¦..Katey

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Phred designed for failure
This is the second Badger 1 I've replaced (in two different houses). They seem a fair value for what you pay. Somewhat noisy. But they seem to be designed for failure after ~X years. My experience suggests X is ~5 years. The most recent failure and why I'm back shopping for another is an inexplicable set of ~20 small corrosion holes very evenly spaced all around the unit exactly 5 1/2 inches from the the bottom. There is no apparent functional/mechanical/electrical reason for why these holes should appear in the casing. Eventually one of the them popped open and caused leaking when the unit operates or is under deluge. Called Insinkerator and they plead ignorance. But the sheer exactness of these new holes where there shouldn't be a hole suggests a design for failure flaw. If a 5 year replacement cycle works for you then this is a good unit. It is easy to install. And replace.

I bought this to replace an old one that started leaking. Works really well as did the old one if you refrain from putting spoons, rocks, or shot glasses into it, like my wife keeps doing.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by DissatisfiedDIY Beware - Seems designed to fail after warranty!
Installed this about 2-3 years ago. It is now leaking from the bottom and ruined our kitchen cabinets. While researching online how to repair this, I discovered that there are no suppliers for the faulty parts and the only option is to replace the unit. I found numerous discussion sites where this had happened to many other people. If I end I up replacing this, I will not be replacing it with this brand again. It seems as thought the product is designed to need replacement shortly after your warrantee ends. With no repair option offered it seem as though it's designed this way to increase their future sales.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Deno Lasted a long, long, long time
Just had to replace the original Badger 1 that was installed when the house was built -- more than 18 years ago. Probably would still be working if a large glass bead (pumpkin decoration) wasn't dropped into it, which became a projectile shooting through the side.
Obviously there's been a few design changes since then, but swapping them out still took less than an hour.
Although they're called Badger 100 now, I managed to find a lone Badger 1 in a damaged box at the local store, at a reduced price. I just hope it lasts nearly as long as the last one.
