I have this in one bathroom and a Panasonic fan on another one. This sounds like a jet fighter compared to the Panasonic. I am in process of removing this cheap fan (placed by contractor) and replacing it with a Panasonic, which is not much more expensive on Amazon. Best that I can say is that it works.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by JoeP Product met and beat my expectations
The vent fan does everythingI want. My half bath is part of the kitchen area so I needed a fan to quickly move the air out. This fan exhausted the air to my amazement, faster than expected. No need to poison the air with the smell of sulphur or air feshener. Sound level is gentle on the ear. Easy installation. I am very happy with NuTone.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by BathroomFan moves air-- yes; beware you don't get a "bad" one
We had a contractor install two of these units into two bathrooms on the same day. One ran quitetly and was fine. The other "rattled" and was annoying. Because they are the same unit, I was able to swap the motor part between the two fans--- I wanted to find out if it was the installation that was making it rattle, or if it was the actual fan. Sure enough, the quiet fan was quiet in the second location; the rattle fan rattled in the second location. I went off to HD to get a third model of this unit--- and guess what--- it rattled WORSE than the original rattling fan. What can I say--- when it works, it's great--- when you get 2 in a row that are not performing--- you become very disappointed with this product.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by Idowop Works well but Hums......
Mounted this fan to a 2x6 as recommended used 4 screws not two nails and it still hums! Also used a 90 bend with proper duct tape (aluminum) and 8ft. of 4" flex hose to the roof vent. Noticed the box itself does not seal well venting both up and down. If I were to do this again I would have duct taped the whole box and plastic fitting very well before install, may have prevented hum and backdraft? I would not recommend this product for first time installers since it needs more TLC than the instructions call for, if you read this and do buy this product follow some of my tips it will cut you some time and headache.
