Rated 5 out of 5Â by Ryan The ideal in-floor safe!
I have been doing a lot of internet searching for an in-floor safe. I was very happy to find that Home Depot carries this water-proof in-floor safe by Sentry Safes. If your an individual who is ready to roll up your sleeves and get to work, then this is the best in-floor safe for the best price. The bottom of the safe has three holes drilled into it so that it can be mounted to the floor. If you are going to mount the safe in the ground such as I did, then I recommend welding the holes shut to ensure that the safe will be water-proof. After I welded the holes shut I suspended the safe over my hole to ensure that the safe wouldn't sink while the concrete was drying. After all the prep work was complete it was time to mix up some concrete. I used several 90lb. bags, so if someone want to take my safe, they better pack a lunch! I like the fact that the safe has a removable door so I can change the door, and hence the combination, anytime I want. If you are a Do-It-Yourself kind of person and you are ready for a big job that takes only a Saturday afternoon, I highly recommend this Sentry water-proof in-floor safe with two enthusiastic thumbs up!

...thwart run-of-the-mill theives. HD had the cheapest price out there. Even though I can afford a $500+ Amsec, Guardian, etc. safe - why waste the money when this safe will do the trick? Even the most expensive in-floor safes are subject to physical removal by a persistant and well-prepared team of theives.
The combo is changeable, if you're handy - essentially, you can mix up the numbers you already have, but that's up to 4 factorial (24) combinations that an unscrupulous Sentry employee would have to do perfectly.
I set my Sentry7250 in with 4-80# bags of Crack Resistant 5000 Sakcrete and a welded ring cage of 1/2" and 5/8" rebar. Any thieves looking to remove my safe from the floor has a long day of work ahead of them!
To ensure mine is damp-proof, I inserted the plastic plugs and epoxied them in on the inside and outside. One other thing I did was to spray 5 coats of 'dipping latex' all over the outside and a couple of coats over the inside. I used the HD plastic bag and zip-tied it to the top as instructed. To ensure that the safe was flush with the floor, I installed the plastic cap, folded over the top of the plastic bag and used several layers of painters tape to seal the top. I was careful when I screeded the concrete and later made sure not to finish trowel too hard over the safe. Nice-looking job.

This is a improvement from the same safe I bought 12 years ago. I like the o-ring seal on the lid. The top screwed on cover can be hard to un-screw when new.
Note* I gave it the high ratings because of the dollor value. You can buy a better quality safe for twice the money, I set mine in a concrete floor.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by jifferyb I think it's very workable..
Very pleased, would like to have the top(liid) not plastic, and fit a little tighter. Waterproof(plastic bag) that's ok, it is in the ground. Thus a tighter lid.. over all it will work just fine.. but why the holes in the bottom plate(plastic bag).
Shipping was right on time 5 stars for that.
