For $7 it is worth a try. I am a big guy and it took a lot of strength to dislodge whatever was jammed in the unit. Make sure that you crank it both clockwise and counterclockwise. If you hear no sound from the motor, press in the reset button at the bottom of the unit.

It's very useful for the garbage disposal when it's stuck and need to do it manually to get it started

Rated 2 out of 5Â by MrPratical123 Use the money to buy a hex key set vs. individual tool
Saw online, but used standard hex key to resolve the issue. My badger disposal seized after almost 11 years of continuous use. Saw this tool online not realizing there is an access hole at the bottom of the disposal that uses a standard 5/16" hex key size. If you're going to spend the money on this tool, put it towards buying a full English set vs. spending money on the individual tool.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Dwyanne You need this tool in your toolbox
I purchased this product because I wanted to avoid the cost of a plumber, and the possible purchase for a new disposal unit. The tool looks almost useless, until you read the very simple instructions. It took me about 10 minutes as an amateur. After finding the switches and plugs for my kitchen disposal, inserting the tool into the bottom of the disposal and following the instructions, I was able to dislodge the obstruction in the disposal. The disk turned cleanly, and I had the disposal working perfectly. For the nominal cost of about $6.00, put this tool in your toolbox. It can save you headaches and money, big-time, if you believe you can salvage your kitchen disposal unit.
