Works good on flat surfaces, nicks and crannies--not so. Does loosen paint well otherwise. If working with wood, might want to try the product at an inconspicous area first as the wood will soften and if you are not careful, you will gouge out too much wood when removing the product and that is with the recommended plastic scraper.

I tried using this product on a door that I was redoing for a head board. I sprayed it on and nothing happened. So I sprayed it on again and still nothing happened. I ended up using the whole can on one side of the door and ended up having to sand the paint off by hand. Very disappointed in this product.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by USMCTex Two Hours and I was scraping!
It's nursery time around my house, and as such an old family rocking chair needed to be refinished and brought up to speed. With its age, lead paint was a possibility so I took some the necessary precautions (built a disposable chem booth, wore a respirator, chem gloves, etc.) and used this spray-on application for a less fuss applicator.
I have to say I'm impressed! In about 2 hours it ate away the paint layers and had it folding on itself like ribbon. I ran one pass along the handle with a plastic scraper and the paint came off VERY easily. Some of the nooks and crannies that saw less abuse were a bit more stubborn, but nothing that the scraper / old toothbrush couldn't handle.
I ran through an entire can of the stripper on 1 rocking chair, so let that be a gauge for your product.
All in all I will definitely be using this again! The spray was nice and easy to control, worked quickly, and didn't seem to "raise the grain" at all. I applied an after-stripper agent and its looking good to paint!

Used on a 28 x 17 antique 6 pane window. I ended up using the entire can however there were multiple layers of paint (5-7) and I only waited the min 30 minutes until I started scrapping with my putty knife but it definitely did come off! I think if I would have waited a longer duration (4-5 hours) then maybe it would've ate through more paint. The one great advantage was I live in an apartment, used this product on my kitchen table and have a dog and I felt it was safe to use (yes I had a fan on and windows open) but it did not smell toxic or never did I feel like it was unsafe for my animal. I recommend this easy to use spray can, especially if working indoors and have animals or children. If using a larger area, i'm not entirely sure, might use a lot of this product.
