This pump works well if you don't have to draw. I pump from a ground level tank through a 2 inch line, 450 ft long.
at the end of the line with good flow I get 45 pounds pressure. at the pump without pumping load the pressure is 90 pounds-not recommended except for short testing. The only problem is the turbine ring clamp nut is a the bottom. Before installing the pump you should loosen it and turn the nut to the top or the side-see photo--makes for easy cleaning later, if needed. oh yeah. . . the factory over-tightened the lower bleed bolt and broke the head off. The leak stopped by replacing the bolt.

This pump was to replace a 1hp pump that I accidentally burned up. I wanted to go with the 2hp pump but other reviews were better for the 1.5.
I've installed a sprinkler system over 2 acres this summer and this pump is more than enough to power everything. One line has 9 sprinklers, 2 Voyager rotor heads and 7 small pop-ups. At 250' from the pump there is more than enough pressure at max 47psi with MAXIMUM CAPACITY: 67 GPM
FLOW at 10' LIFT and 30 PSI: 45 GPM.
When I tested one of my last lines with 5 heads, a nozzle popped out. With a Voyager II rotor head pumping out to 10' I still had full flow with the other 4 heads.
I have reduced the 1-1/2 suction and discharge line down to 1" and still have more than enough to push out 24 gpm to about 40'.
In summary, I'm glad I saved the money by purchasing the 1.5hp instead of the 2hp, I didn't feel the extra price was worth the minimal extra pressure. I would recommend this pump to anyone.

I purchased the pump to replace my old sprinkler pump. The old Flotech pump froze up after about 10 or more years so I bought an exact replacement. Buying a new one was cheaper than having bearings installed in the old one. I had to buy no parts, it fit exactly. I only had to prime it one time and it's running quietly. The volume and pressure are just right. I choose to purchase the plastic pumps because they are cheaper, lighter and much easier to carry at the end and beginning of summer than the cast iron pumps.

THIS PUMP WORKS GREAT IN OUR CRAB SHEDDER SYSTEM. PROVIDES PLENTY OF PRESSURE TO AERATE THE WATER AND CAUSE TURBULENCE. I BOUGHT A SECOND ONE FOR A BACK UP. OUR SYSTEM RUNS 24-7 FROM MAY THRU OCTOBER AND IT HAS RAN NON STOP SINCE I PURCHASED IT ON APRIL 20. GREAT PUMP!

I have a 50 foot well and i am irrigating a 3 zone, 7 head each sprinkle system with this pump.. This pump has enough pressure to meet my requirements.
Based on posts here and because it is an "Sprinkle Pump" instead of a "shallow well pump", I thought that this pump would not be able to draw water from my well. on the contrary, it does and I havenât had any problems.. I have it connected to my sprinkle timer and it has worked every time.. very happy with my purchase
