This was purchased as an integral part of my daughter's science project which studied the effect of pH on the corrosion of steel. It corroded better than we could have hoped for in the time that was allotted.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by MLinMD It's sheet metal.
22 gauge weldable steel isn't generally available. Unless of course you use it frequently and deal with a metals wharehouse. I was surprised to see the selection of different gauge metals, angle iron, etc. that was avaliable. I cannot really comment on the price because I haven't shopped around for what I needed. I found the small piece of steel that I can form into a patch on an old pickup truck. I'm happy.

Your specifications listed for 16 ga plain steel sheet need to be corrected. This product is NOT 19/32'' thick. Nor is it .598'' thick. It is 1/16'' or .0625'' thick.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by SpecialJ Yup, its a piece of 22 gauge sheet metal.
Just what I expected, a piece of bare (not coated) sheet metal ready for a small welding project. What's amazing is that I looked high and low for 22 gauge sheet metal (I didn't want to buy a whole sheet) at the local hardware stores, welding supply, etc. I just wanted a piece scrap (by the way don't call it scrap, political correctness is "remnant"). On a lark I Googled it and got a hit for The Home Depot, so I called my local Home Depot with part number in hand, but since the Barstow, CA 92311 Home Depot is a small store I would have to order on line so I did. Anyway I order the 1'X2' piece since the shipping is the same for 1'X1' piece. Now I too have a remnant of 22 gauge sheet metal to add to my scrap pile.
