I used the socket extenders to expand and make a grow lighting system. I used a trouble light for the first socket and then added 3 of these twin socket adapters. Works great with the cfl lights I used - everything all together is only 52 watts - so still less than ONE regular bulb.

This one-to-two adapter works well with heavier bulbs like those used for photography studio setups. It could be sturdier but does its job well.

My 2 car garage was too dark with just one 23W CFL bulb (100W filament equivalent). So I connected three splitters into one and connected to my existing socket. After putting 4 23W CFL bulbs in them, I can now not only work on the car, but even proof read manuscripts in there!
Great idea to get more light for very little money - and no need for an electrician. Make sure you use Phillips CFL bulbs, since they come on fast and last much longer than off brand bulbs.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Bobgg Good for LED light bulbs
This item is good for installing two LED light bulbs in the same socket, as they currently only make them up to 60W Equivalent (950 Lumens), meaning you can have 1900 Lumens of light, while having the power efficiency, temperature and vibration tolerance and safety of LED lighting.

Bought these to serve as a light socket splitter. They feel a little flimsy and cheap, but they serve their purpose well enough.
