Rated 5 out of 5Â by Pete Very easy to install and looks great on the house!
My product was shipped to the house across the street from me and their item was dropped off at my house. I had to go over and make the exchange with my neighbor. Overall though the item was shipped on time and the product was very easy to install.

my wife and I like these so much i just ordered 3 more sets to do the backside of our house. I have a dark T111 wood with a desert tan roof. it matched perfectly. one note, make sure you go the entire length od the plastic bolt. it says that in the instructions. i didnt on one hole and tried pulling it out and it broke off, just lucky one bag had 7 in it instead of 6 and we repaired it. some of our friends said watch for bees entering thru louver. not sure about that will follow up at end of summer. my wife and i put up two sets in 20 mins, easy to install.

I recently remodeled our guest bathroom. I needed a door with louvers to access a low profile water heater and towel storage. I could fine nothing that was suitable for my purpose.
Found these paintable shutters and was able to make Dutch doors, allowing acces to the top or bottom of the storage closet. Construction was a simple wooden frame around the shutter. The shutter was attached to the frame with screws and the whole assembly painted.
I would have preferred the shutters be smooth, but having a "wood grain" was not a show stopper.

I looked in several stores for the window shutters I wanted to match the color of my siding and new roof. I found the type of shutter I wanted at Home Depot and Lowe's but not the right color so I went on line. First I looked at Home Depot and found the right color and sizes. Then, to do some comparison shopping, I looked at Lowe's on line but did not find the color I wanted. Also, the same shutters that I found at Home Depot cost more at Lowe's. So where do you think I bought them from? Home Depot, of course. I hired somebody to put them on the house but I really like the way they look and they came much quicker that I expected. I have a positive opinion of shopping at Home Depot and will select them again when I need something for my house.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Robert Flimsy & Difficult to Paint
I bought a pair of 15" x 75" Builders Edge shutters from H-D, and have not yet installed them, but was moved to warn others. The shutters are so flimsy that I had to hold the back of the shutter to keep it from bending too much while I was painting them. Couldn't you put a vertical reinforcing piece of plastic cast into the back of the shutter, Builders Edge?
Also, I purchased "paintable" type so I could paint to match the other shutters on the house. Using Home Depot's best Behr paint, it will take at least 2 coats of paint because there's a gloss finish on the "paintable" shutters. Couldn't you provide a surface similar to a primed surface? Using good paint, it should NOT take 2+ coats.
I'm not a picky person, and this is the first negative review I've ever written. These are junk.
