My wife and I are very pleased with the elegant look and quality material of this product. We bought 10 recessed trim to replaces the builderâs grade. I did a great deal of research and found that Home Depot had the best price. Plus, we had $70 Home Depot Gift Card from paint rebate last summer.
Even though the recess can did not fit our recess lights, my wife got HGTV creative and went to Home Depot and bought the best Gorilla glue and glued the trims to the original canisters. It worked perfectly.

We recently purchased a house filled with basic white recessed can lights. Much to my chagrin there were only can lights in this beautiful dinning room - no chandelier. I found these trims and put them up and viola! A beautiful solution. The glass gives off a soft muted gold tone to the light but does not block the light. The design and finish really pump up these old can lights to elegant lighting. The price was right, the delivery was within 1 week of purchase, and they were easy to install.

If you're looking for a solution to the plain, stark appearance of recessed lighting (can lights) this may be just what you need. There are several models available by Hampton Bay and this is the easiest to install and have hang properly. I purchased two different styles and this one attaches with spring hooks to the base plate of the socket and has a small reflector cup. The other model requires removing the base plate, replacing it with a full reflector cup (cone) and clips inside the main lighting fixture (can) that I had trouble getting to stay in place. I highly recommend this one over the other. Plus, the pattern is more stylish. The only trouble I experienced was that the edges of the small reflector cup bends easily so you just have to be careful when installing and twisting into place. Also, you'll have to be careful changing the bulb so you don't 'unlock' the cup which is extremely close to the bulb. It took me about three hours to take down the old plastic trim, clean the fixtures and mount these new rims on 16 fixtures. I Liked them so much, I purchased and installed 8 more in another spot in my home. Overall, it is a beautiful well made product and greatly enhances the room. Hampton Bay has smartly designed their line of products to be flexible in style, yet allows you to mix fixtures and still have coherent look. I already had two Hampton Bay flush mount fixtures in the space and the these recessed rims match perfectly. They add a more finished, elegant look than the standard plastic rim associated with can lights. I used the 40W equivalent LED bulbs and they are bright and light the glass ring beautifully. Much brighter than the 65 reflector bulbs I had been using.

Saw these in a catalog for over twice as much, searched online (same prices). Home Depot had basically the same product for much less. A bit more difficult to install with the old style recessed lights, but the finished product looks fantastic. Much more stylish than naked recessed lights. The glow from the glass trim is soft and very attractive.

We had to replace the cans for old lighting due to heat loss to the attic. I didn't want to replace with the same old plain white trim. HDepot had the best selection at the most reasonable prices. These are really nice and make canned lights look not so canned. They actually look more like a low profile light fixture now. They are very pretty without the lights on, and when the lights are on, the amber glass around the inside middle gives off a nice warm glow. My husband said they were really easy to install and we did NOT have to get longer neck bulbs. We have the standard short-neck bulbs. We are very happy with this trim and are so glad we went with something with a bit of class and character.
