I ordered this for my 5'8" closet, before knowing the actual size of the closet. I thought the closet was bigger than that. I ended up with alot of track and shelving left over due to I need long hanging area, and I wanted to keep a laundry hamper in the closet as well. I may not have made this purchase if I had been able to visualize the end result, but I will use the rest of the system in another bedroom anyway. Very high quality system all in all.

I read all the reviews before I purchased this product. took exactly 1 hour to install, may have been easy for me because I have installed closet systems in the past. I don't understand the poor reviews on this product, which there are not very many. I guess those people had lack of expirance with home fix up and repair. Most of us reliaze there may have to be some holes drilled to hit a stud, how could the manufactuer make the product to fit every possiable stud configuration? spme complained about cutting the shelveing to fit, well when it is made to fit more then one size yeah you may have to cut something, simple hacksaw or sawall job. The bottom line is this install in a 7' closest was very easy, like I said 1 hour total, with drilling two holes to hit studs, cutting two shelves down to fit my requirements. Other then that everything was flawless. A few extra parts were included which is great in case I were to drop something. Tools I needed were a 1/4" dril bit, sawzall, cordless drill, with phillips driver bit, lever, tape measure, and a pencil. The kit claims it holds 80 pounds of stuff on the shelves, seems stronger then that, while it looks light weight when assembled it is very strong. I would recommend this product to anyone, but if you lack skills plans to take your time and allow a half day, refer to instructions as you go they are clear and easy to understand, read them first before you start, and read as you install, remember they show you examples on how to install in different size closets with 3 options per size. But you can install any way you like the options are endless, sure you may have to buy some extra parts if you go crazy, but what is included is enough for most people. They have many options to add to the system to customize it for your needs. I paid $119 plus tax, very resonable. Equal to rubbermaid products but they both have their differances, this is a better value in my book, My pay 1/3 more a Lowes for an equal product.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by OldHomeRemodeler Great to maximize close space!
We installed this in our closet this weekend and I believe it nearly doubled the hanging space we had previously. It's a little difficult to get the bolts installed in the drywall -- we needed a much larger hole to push the clamps through the drywall than the 3/8' drill bit it said to use. Once we were able to get the first bolt installed, the rest were relatively easy. It's very secure and sturdy. Great purchase overall!
One "con" of the product is that the "standard extenders" to connect the 48" standard with the 30" standard are not sold in stores and only 2 are provided with the kit. They can, however, be ordered fairly inexpensively at closetmaid.com. Depending on your design (we added a shoe rack completely across the bottom of our closet) you may need extras.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by DOS1 Closet system. Flexible design
Good value for a closet system. It is a wire rack system; so will never be as sturdy or attractive as a wood custom closet . The kit is great because figuring out all the parts if you picked everything out ala carte can be confusing. Plus you can configure many different ways . My husband liked the ease of installation.
