Very disappointed with the shades I purchased from my local Home Depot. I purchased four, and within a month of installing them I am replacing them all. First, they have a horrible, strong plastic odor even a month after installation. Second, they are ruined already. When you get them custom cut at the store, the inner cardboard becomes very weak. Within a few times of pulling down the shade, the plastic end on the cut end starts sliding out from the pressure of pulling down the shade and destroys the inner cardboard tube even further so the problem just keeps repeating itself. Then you have to remove it and shove the plastic end cap back in place, manually wind up the shade and put it back in place, and the majority of the time the spring gets so tight that you cannot pull the shade down at all. If you pull on it the whole shade comes down. Basically every morning and evening I have to repair four shades, which is mildly entertaining to my 2- and 4-year olds. After a month of this, I'm fed up and will buy something else. This is a cheap, smelly made in China product that is so bad my 4-year old thought I should write a review and tell you exactly how bad they are.

One of the two I purchased will not roll up as high as the other. The other does not stay where I want it to; it will suddenly roll up and spin around noisily -- startling everyone. The employee forgot to trim the second one; so I have two unequal size shades, Being a person with disabilities I cannot climb a ladder to adjust the tension. I will have to wait for a friend to do it for me. Perhaps the factory cannot set all its shades to have the same tension. However these look good and do the job I needed them to do.

Bought 7 shades in 2 weeks for 3 bedrooms and 2 bathroom . Within 2 weeks 5 have had their springs sprung. Not happy. Paid with cash and cannot find receipt . A waste of money. Do not buy them. Overall rating POOR.

Its great that you can get shades cut to the width of the window. The customer service rep cut the first one too short as he seemed new at the use of the cutting device. The shades appear somewhat flimsy and cheap. They are OK for a back porch however.

I just bought this shade a couple of hours ago. had it cut in the store. the store cutter does not cut cleanly and the lady had to finish it with scissors--looks ragged on the cut side. Brought it home to put it up. first time trying to get it to roll back up--it doesn't roll back up. BRAND NEW! we pulled and pulled. it's one of those shades that is supposed to pop back up when you pull it down quick. maybe because it's too long. it says 78 inches but the window is only 4 ft long. we tried pulling it down lower, over the bed to get it to go back up, still will not roll up all the way. it stays down about 14 inches over the window. taking it back tommorrow. i don't appreciate having to go back to the store, I already spent 2 hours there today getting all the stuff I need.
