The unit was easy to assemble. I have an odd shaped closet; its the width of a standard door and about 3.5ft long. I only used rods on one side of the unit since the closet was so small. The unit was delivered with considerable damage. The particle board was very broken in several places. I did not remove the base board molding, just installed at a slight angle. The shelves are not laminate coated on both sides so you can see the particle board on the taller shelves. The shelves are also not adjustable. I included pictures, but I customized it significantly. I purchased a 3 drawer closet maid system from target that had hardware for 3 drawers that fit the width and depth of this system. The target unit is shorter, so I wall mounted the smaller unit. I also, purchased extra shelf pieces and manually fixed them, as the shelf height with the ones provided is very tall.

I got this because my dresses hit the ground in my old closet set up. Currently a middle age female, I put it in myself. The only help I got was a neighbor cut the bottoms of one of the center pieces, and cut the ends of the steel bars so that it would fit better in my closet. This looks fantastic and will be useful for years.

Basic storage allows for much more usable space in your closet. The wife is very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by dphillips209 I purchased 3 of these
I purchased 3 of these to have the extra shelves on the left and right as well as in the center to cover a large area. With the 3 sets of shelves and 1 hanging rail on one side with a shoe rack, and the other 2 rails on the other, there is plenty of room for both hanging and shelf space. In addition, I purchased the additional shelf for the top of the rails to have even more shelf space on top. For around $200 I have a super closet customized to exactly how I wanted it. (I ruined one piece and had to buy a replacement piece when I failed to secure it to the wall as suggested and it fell over and broke when I began hanging stuff on it, so be sure to secure it to the wall as suggested!) Quality is 'good' for the price you pay - its basically laminated compressed wood so as good as you can get for cheap furniture.

I bought both the 12"-wide T-6 unit for a small closet and the 16"-wide T-3 for a larger closet. I expected them to be about the same because both carried the ClosetMaid trademark. The two turned out to be quite different. The wider T-3 unit (and, apparently, the even wider 25" T-4) was superior in terms of craftsmanship. While the T-6 was made of basic melamine, the T-3 had a white foil finish that was more durable, and the front edges were formed in a bullnose rather than a simple straight cut. The T-6 had only fixed shelves, while the T-3 had both fixed and movable shelves. Finally, the T-3 came with corner bracing (although apparently only made of cardboard), but the T-6 had no bracing at all. Both units will provide you with a useful way of organizing a closet. My advice, however, is that if you have the room, get the T-3. It's better made and gives you a more useable 16" shelf instead of the narrow 12" of the T-6.
