This is my third garage remote in ten years. This is by far the best one yet! It's compact, takes a much better battery (disk vs.9-volt), and was simple to install.
My old one broke because 9-volt batteries are way too heavy for remotes. Both wires came apart in less than 3-years of infrequent use.
Since this new one uses a small/light disk battery that can be bought in most NYC dollar stores & certainly in chain drugstores, it's economical and makes for a nice small remote instead of one three times it's size that breaks easily.
The price may seem high to some, but the pros highly outweigh the price.
Installation literally took less than 5-minutes. In this very imperfect world, it's such a pleasure to get a perfect product from time to time.

I've used about 20 of these so far in the 5 1/2 years at this location. We use them to raise the spikes and gate arms at our security check point where I work. Each button on the remote is programmed to either the entry or exit side of our gates. The guards must click each button 100 - 200 times each shift depending on the volume of traffic. I guess when you look at it that way they are ok, but they only last about 6 months. although, with that volume, it's like they work about 20 years (estimate) with normal use. They program easily with the supplied instructions.

Work as expected.
Programming was difficult as the instructions provided did not work. Programming the device was done through trial and error.
