There are two things you should know about this fan before you buy it.
1) We did not realize it had distressed blades until we got it home and opened the box. Upon closer inspection, we realized that, yes, it does say distressed on the box, but in teeny tiny print. The lighter walnut side of the blade looks cheaply distressed, like someone just smashed it with the butt end of a screwdriver handle. However on the darker side, it looks fine and you can't even tell the marks are there when you get the fan into place (we hung ours on an 8' ceiling). Occasionally the natural light hits the distress on the blades and it reads as a nice subtle texture without being overpowering.
2) The hardware that's included to screw the mount plate into the ceiling junction box did not work for us because we had brand new boxes installed. If you have an existing box from a previous fan, the hardware will probably work fine for you. If you are installing this brand new, you may need different screws to fit your junction box.
Ultimately we wanted a medium to dark finish fan with a light and remote control and looked at a lot of them online and in the store, both here and at Lowe's. This fan is literally the one we kept passing over because it didn't have either of those things BUT because this one was so very simple and all of the other fans had one design option we didn't like, we chose this one and added a very nice Hampton Bay sand-colored scavo glass light kit with hardware that matched the fan hardware.
We hung it with the darkest side of the blade showing and the result is stunning. We are very happy with the amount of air it moves, how quiet it is and the decorating versatility the simplistic design gives us. And surprisingly, it cost us less to buy the fan and light kit separate than the entire unit together.

I carefully read all the reviews before purchasing this fan because I believe that when people log on here to tell their story, they are telling the truth and are doing it to help others.
When I saw the price of this fan at my local store, I was leary because it seemed "too good to be true" for the price. Then, I actually RE-checked my trusty on-line reviews to make sure it was the same fan I saw such great reviews on, then I bit the bullet and bought it.
They were right!
It's a great looking, quiet, sophisticated fan that does the job. In addition, it has a great rustic, Tuscan, classic presence, which I LOVE. I try to keep that look throughout my house and this fan looks like it's always been right there where I just put it. Oh, and, yes....It IS quiet! I even had to add a 12 inch downrod because I have a cathedral ceiling and it's still quiet and stays almost completely still when operating. It gives off a great breeze that feels natural.
I'm not an easy sell and this purchase was a no-brainer, as far as I'm concerned!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by BIGACE AMAZING FAN!!!!!
I've read a lot of reviews before purchasing this fan and I have no regrets. This fan really puts out a lot of air and its amazingly quiet. I am using it in my living room/kitchen, which is right over 450sq ft and the air started to move a hand towel that I had in the corner of the kitchen. All the parts were there not missing, and for all those people who said it was dented or gouged they didn't read the description or see the display it says "DISTRESSED LOOK" for the blades it supposed to look that way. It has this rustic look makes my living room look great. Overall great value moves a lot of air and its an energy saver.

Bought this fan because it didn't come with a light kit, was the oiled bronze finish, and a simple design/form. Replaced an expensive fan with integrated light (which I didn't like for the great room), that was already up when we bought the place. I knew I wanted a fan that didn't have a light kit, was sleek, and reliable. Therefore, I confined my search to Hunter brand fans because of their reputation for being reliable, sturdy, and beautiful with timeless styling. We are very pleased with it. It is quiet, creates a soft breeze, and is elegant. Highly recommend.
