I bought this sprayer along with some deck stain as it was located in the deck stain section. However, there is no way anyone could ever use this to spray stain on a deck or fence. The sprayer spurts out droplets of stain from two holes located on each side. It goes everywhere and lands in droplets. I brushed out the droplets and ended up just rolling the stain on my deck. I'm taking this back to Home Depot and even if I don't get a refund, I would like them to know they should NOT put this on the shelf next to the stain. It does not work at all for this purpose, and I'm not sure of any purpose for which it would work.

This sprayer made by RL Flowmaster worked fine for one season , then tried to use it the second season and noticed part of the handle broke apart. The part that broke is called 'flow control cap' this is a gray round cap that holds a spring under constant pressure, the spring is too strong for the plastic cap.

This model is junk, yes, as others have said you get what you pay for. This unit leaked a little from the relief valve when it was new. At the time it was rarely used. I had a RL Flo-Master RLF 1992A 2 Gallon sprayer which was very good which will cost you about $30.00 +/-. This one was broken due to my own fault which was when I started using the 1.5 gallon piece of junk which then the relief valve leaked even more and then pump failed although it was lubricated. Bottom line is spend more for a better product, but do your research first.

I bought this item to spray a stain on my wood fence. It just spayed uneven lines of stain, This was the first time I used it. It sprayed globs of statin. I cleaned it as stated in the troubleshooting section. Still spayed uneven lines. The control on the bottom of the wand had no effect. I ended up have to use a brush to even out the spay pattern.

Purchased this sprayer and after about 3 or 4 uses it began to leak. Took it apart, cleaned it, then put it back together and it's still leaking at various parts on the wand. You really get what you pay for. I would recommend paying a little more if you wish to keep using it longer then 3 or 4 times.
