Rated 5 out of 5Â by Resting1 A Definate PLUS to have handy
This product is an exact fit. It's a handy addition to have on hand when needed. It is stored on the snowblower until needed. I'm sure that it will work on soft snow drifts, but not sure if it will help with the heavier, plowed into the driveway apron snow mounds. We shall see.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Docbubba Well made, fits good, wonderful products from Ariens.
OK, so its just a couple of steel bars that are pre-punched to fit the holes already set up on the Arien snow blower intake housing. I am impressed with the quality of everything these guys make........ I am an old city guy, that has bought his first snow blower, because I am tired of shoveling the wet stuff for the last two years at my new home (retired) in the mountains........Ariens build really well made equipment and the paint job feels like its a 1/4-inch thick........ have not tried the rakes yet, its still to soon in the season, but it will happen, it does every year.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Reglith Overall very easy to install and use
I love the idea of this product. It installed fairly easily and operates fairly easily.
My one gripe is the bolts that hold the cutters on. When you loosen up the knobs, the heads of the carriage bolts slip out of the square hole and you have to reposition them.
Also, the knobs used to tighten the cutters down are very hard to turn. I'm pretty strong so I can imagine someone with less hand strength having a really difficult time with them.
I'm sure they will loosen up over time though or you could just go down to HOME DEPOT lol. and get a different set of knobs

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Westernreserve Very good accessory for the Ariens snow blowers. It is extremley helpful when cutting through heavy snow drifts. Also the design allows for the drift bar to be folded back to t he side of the snow blow for easy storage. Also, the bar is made of heavy duty steel. Good choice for areas that get heavy snow drift conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by JeffCav Great inexpensive add on
I got these shortly after ordering my snow blower. I figured that even though I live in Boston and we don't get nearly as much snow as other parts of New England, it would be worth having them in the long run and getting them while my snow blower is in production would be easier than years later.
I used them in my second season with this machine. Heavy high snow piled on the sidewalk meant that extending the cutters helped pull snow down in front of the machine.
These are really easy to use. If you're doing it right, you are only loosening he bolts enough to swing the cutter into position. If it seems like too much effort, you're doing it wrong.
These are well made and inexpensive.
