Rated 5 out of 5Â by sunny we used this product to avoid removing and replacing framing in a room that was moderately damaged by termites. it worked.
it is an application that required a hazmat suit and precautions; its use is not to be taken lightly. however, when we contacted the termite man to fumigate, he saved us a few hundred by telling us the wood epoxy killed all the termites. and it hardened to wood to a harder than wood strength and made the wood no longer palatable to termites. i hope i never have to use it again, but if i do, it does work.

Water leakage around front door caused wood rot in the rim joist. After throughly drying rim joist I applied product to joist. The product soaks in very, very slowly. Though it comes with an applicator bottle I used a cheap mustard squeeze bottle from a dollar store with a short tube attached to the end. I slowly applied the product to a small area over about an hour time, then mixed more and applied to another area. I also drilled holes into the wood to get it in as much as possible. It took several days to apply to an 8' length. The goal was to soak and seal the wood to both increase its strength, stop further rotting, seal against any further water damage. I'm not totally relying on this product, I also sistered the rim joist with blocking inside. It takes perhaps a week to completely harden and doesn't thicken much for the first hour, it's basically a very slow curing epoxy thats also a little thinner, but still has a syrup consistency, not as thin as water.
I could see the product also being used as a preventative on areas that could suffer from water damage by sealing the wood with a waterproof hard coating.
