My son and I attended the kids workshop to build this bughouse. It was very easy for him to assemble, he's 7. He felt so proud that he could build it with little assistance from me. He went right outside when we got home to show his friend, and they caught 4 lizzards to put in it. He was able to release them the next morning. Thanks Home Depot for the father/son fun day. Can"t wait until next month. We are kids workshopers for life.

Bought this for my 5 yo son along with the toolbox kit and real tools his size. He loved putting it together and immediately went out to collect bugs with his Daddy. The only problem I have with it is that in the picture it shows a round top bug house but we received a flat top and it does not look as good and I imagine a little shorter b/c of this.

My seven year old daughter wanted tools from Santa for Christmas. When I searched your sight and found these easy projects for her to complete, I was so happy. She loved building the bug house, the directions were easy to follow. We will complete the Birdhouse this week. I only wish that home depot had more projects for us to complete together at home.

We loved staining and building our little bug house. My son thought the process was very fun. We stained the house first, then let it dry overnight before putting together. The screen is hard to see through, hence the 4 star rating. Not sure how they would fix this??? Overall I would highly recommend.

It is a great product to build with your child. It is a little bit more difficult than I would have expected since it is designed for children. We had a great time building it and then collecting bugs....it was hard finding some now that its quite chilly out.
