CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 148 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent overall I have had this fridge for over 2 years now and both my wife and I LOVE it. No more stooping to look for the mayo in the bottom shelve... Everything is at or near to eye level. The freezer holds the weekly menu brought in from the bulk storage 24 cuft. freezer in the garage. We keep frozen mugs in the top slide and things that we keep frozen for food prep. With no children in the household the stainless requires only weekly wipe down. We make good use of the spsce where there is no water dispenser. We do not use the ice maker and have removed all the removable Ice maker components. We're almost all done with the kitchen, need a few cabinet doors and th cove above the cabinets and toekicks. December 4, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by 2 years later, the panel has stopped working - a $500 repair I purchased this unit in 2011 and now, in 2013, the panel has stopped working. The freezer works still but the refrigerator now freezes. We lost 15 pounds of fresh tomatoes from our garden, among other things. I expected a 3 to 5 year life span, which our repair place prepared us for, but just over 2 years is frankly embarasing for an American company like Maytag. We'll spend $506 on the part and another $130 for labor to get it running again. I'm so disapointed. I read all HD reviews and have purchased all appliances, 3 entire bathrooms, outdoor sets, closets, shelving, doors, paint, stain and all door and cabinet hardware, etc. at HD. I'm concerned that we consumers may not be receiving the highest quality merchandise. I'm unsure what to do next! December 6, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by NEVER BUY MAYTAG I never write reviews but use them to buy all items. I don't recommend this product because this is the second major maytag appliance that I am completely disappointed with. It's cracked in many places. The drawer was easily cracked by just something slipping out of my hand (poor design location). The top of the freezer (pull out draw) is cracked because again something was dropped and it's made of cheap plastic. Both items were very expensive to replace and I can see it happening again with the way it’s designed. I was just cleaning it recently and noticed an interior crack beside one of the pull out draws. This means we will be replacing this way sooner that I wanted. The expensive Maytag Neptune washer we had lasted 7 years!!!! We've had this refrigerator for 2 years. As long as I live, I will never buy Maytag again!!!! October 10, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by noisey refridgerator Everytime this refridgerator runs it makes a knocking noise that is quite loud. We had the service man check the refridgerator and he said this is normal for Maytag and this problem has exsisted since 2004. I feel this is something Maytag should make customers aware of and feel they should address this problem. If I had been aware of this problem I would have purchased a LG refrigerator rather then the Maytag. July 27, 2010
Rated 3 out of 5 by Cautionary Note As much as I love this fridge I was shocked when on the last day of the manufacturer's warranty it quit working. It was exactly one year to the day that I came home to my wife saying the refrigerator was broken. I drove to Home Depot with a receipt to see what I could do. The appliance gal there was very helpful and dialed the 800 # for Maytag for me. I finally spoke to a Maytag service person but was worried because the purchase date and the delivery date were a week apart and it had quit me on the anniversary of its delivery. It was the end of the work day on the other end of the line and without the serial # the lady was not interested in helping me much. Fortunately, the next morning [after loss of sleep] I spoke to a fresh voice and was given assurance that they would honor the warranty and fix my fridge even though the fine print said "a year from the purchase date". I was much relieved at that point and decided to purchase an additional 2 year warranty. I would suggest to anyone buying this big of a ticket item to at least buy the Home Depot extended warranty and not wait like I did and pay more than twice for another 2 years of coverage from the manufacturer. Some repairs on these newer units can be $600 or more. It is still the greatest fridge I have ever owned for its convenience and ample space but I have my fingers crossed that it will last as long as most of my older cheaper ones that never had any problems. Just lucky so far that Maytag stood by their product. May 17, 2011
