More durable than the tower outdoor timers. Works well for the string lights on our screen porch. Withstands high humidity, blowing rain, as well as extreme hot & cold temps.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Tony Looks good and easy to use
I purchased this one to replace the old one from Westinghouse, which has been dead maybe due to LCD not working. This one looks more reliable due to there is no display and only a knob. It works well so far.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Jack This product is not very good.
I bought two of these to control my landscape lights. After less than a year the lights started going off during the night without any reason. The control has a short or loose connection inside which turns it off if it is shaken or tapped. My big disappointment is that when I tried to take it apart to see if I could find it one of the screws is a special head that requires some kind of special tool to open it.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by CarterB Great for holiday lights. Easy to use.
I really like this outlet as it allows me to forget about turning on and off the outdoor holiday lights. It's a little awkward and bulky hanging down from an outlet but I hid it behind a decoration on the porch. It reliably comes on at dusk at nearly an identical time as other light sensors. The timer is accurate and turns off reliably. It's better for me than a remote controlled outlet (which I have also).

I'm using this timer for the second year in a row for my holiday lights. There's not much to it beyond plugging it in then plugging in your lights. It's not just for lights but with a dusk to dawn sensor, that's the most obvious use. Once dusk hits it comes on and will stay on for a preset amount of time or until dawn. I have it set for 6 hours that way my lights come on around 5:50 p.m. then turn off around midnight. Holiday lights are great but it's kind of a waste burning them all night long. I considered a digital timer that could be programmed but I feel this unit is far more durable and weatherproof. If I want my lights to stay on longer (or shorter) all it takes is a turn of the dial rather than reprogramming a digitl timer.
