can't say enough about this nice sized grill. I have a small patio and thought I would have to compromise since I didn't have room for a full size grill. Also we are a small family and just didn't need a big grill. The size of this bistro grill is perfect for us. Its so nice to be able to cook at high heat to keep the flavor in, and outdoors to keep the smells of the house. Several reviewers have commented on the narrow grate size-but that too is perfect for us. I can grill asparagus without the need for a special "basket". Not one asparagus spear lost yet!. As for cleaning, just leave the grill on high heat for a couple of minutes after cooking to allow remnants to disintegrate, then give it a once over with the grill brush. Easy! Tonight enjoyed some grilled chicken sausage and asparagus. I'm saying goodbye to my indoor grill pan. This is so much better! Great price too. Thanks Home Depot for.the fast delivery! And thanks to CharBroil for making such a great product for us small families

I purchased the Patio Bistro grill back in 2012 through an online retailer, and got the grill a couple of days before Memorial Day (how's that for timing??). Since I have had this grill now for two years, it's time to review the two years I've used this grill. For starters, this Patio Bistro grill is fantastic for cooking food on. With CharBroil's infrared technology, food comes out juicy and tasty. You can't go wrong with any kind of meat/chicken/seafood you put on the Bistro to cook. The assembly took me about 1 1/2 hours to do, but after that, I could see how CharBroil gets consistently great reviews for their line of infrared grills. Food is cooked at high temperatures, but using infrared heat, not direct flame, allows food to retain it's moisture, not dry out the food through regular direct flame cooking (which heats the air, and dries out the food). Great char marks on steaks, chicken, pork chops, etc. plus the moisture and smoke created from cooking enhances the flavor of the food on the grill. With 240 sq. inches of cooking surface plus 40 sq. inches for the warming rack, you can easily cook for 2-3 people on the Patio Bistro. Wood chips can be placed directly onto the grill surface for that smoky flavoring. No need to soak chips, or even to put chips in a smoker box or aluminum foil. Just throw some chips onto the heated grill. and in a couple of minutes, the chips will start smoking. One thing I saw online about this grill is that you can cook bacon directly on the grates, with no grease flare ups. That is completely true, as I did it to see if it could be done, and the Bistro cooked the bacon for the burgers I was making. Because of the design of the cooking grates, the Bistro needs to be cleaned after each use, because there are holes in the cooking grate surface which need to be kept clear. You can use the grill cleaning tool that comes with the grill, or buy a grill brush, or even use balled up aluminum foil to clean in-between the grates to keep the holes clear.
I have noticed this year when checking out the grill, that there is some paint peeling coming from the inside lid of the grill. That is a normal thing to happen over time when you cook on any grill with a lid, but this can be resolved by removing the lid, scraping off the peeling paint, and re-painting the inside lid with high heat spray paint sold at home improvement/hardware stores. So, two years later, my Patio Bistro is my go-to grill for cooking steaks, chicken, pork chops, and seafood. You taste buds will thank you.

After dragging three old, ugly monster grills to recycle we vowed to shop hard for our next barbecue unit. This patio bistro fit all the criteria for attractive, compact appearance, adequate cooking surface for a family group, easy assembly, easy to start and regulate temperature, sturdiness and outdoor cooked food that turns out juicy and flavorful! Having the propane tank situated within the space between the grill legs adds even more to a streamlined appearance. I can imagine this being a first choice for apartment dwellers.
Living in the Pacific Northwest, we love seafood so fresh wild salmon was the first choice to cook on our new grill. We like to use cedar grilling planks. While my husband assembled the Patio Bistro Tru-Infrared Propane Gas Grill and allowed the newness to burn off a short while, I got the planks soaking and prepared the fish by rubbing it with olive oil, seasonings such as dill weed and lemon pepper, topped with sliced lemon or fresh herb sprigs. Alder chips on the outer edges of the grill are allowed to begin smoking with the temperature on full high. Put the plank with the fish on the grill and turn heat down to lowest setting, lower the cover and in 15 to 20 minutes the fish is done. We have also cooked boneless, skinless chicken breasts using pre-soaked planks and fresh herbs and they always turn out tender and juicy too.
I'm glad we also bought the cover made for this grill from Home Depot as it will extend the life of our best-ever grill and looks tidier when not in use.

This grill replaced a similar sized patio grill from the same manufacturer that we had for 14 years. Interior gas distribution plate finally rusted out on old grill. Remainder of old grill was in good shape. New grill heats quickly and distributes heat evenly. Upper warming rack works well. Good product for the money.

We love the way this grill seals in the flavor and never dries out the food. As you can see in the picture attached, we like this brand of grill. We would highly recommend it. It is great for 2 people and can accommodate even more.
