This is a great inexpensive toolbox, but the top metal latches can fall off the box while the lid is open and upside down. The top latches slide into a groove and are not permanently affixed to the box. My tool box now only has one latch working, because one of the top metal latches fell off while the box was open and I can not locate it. No big deal, just be careful, replacement latches are not available at Home Depot!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Pappyd Great for Ammo
I was looking for some ammo boxes and while at Home Depot I got the idea to look at some tool boxes to see if they would work - they did. This will hold well over 500 rounds of 223 ammo in storage and it works great for carrying my range equipment - ear protection, safety glasses, stapler and a few boxes of ammo. It's much larger than the standard ammo can and a lot less expensive. It's not quite as stout but it holds up well and did not feel flimsy when I loaded it up, picked it up and put it into storage and, best of all, it was inexpensive. I picked up two of these and they do the job.

I was extremely disappointed with this purchase. I bought this tool box for my grandson. I stocked it with off the shelf tools from Home Depot. He was so excited. After opening the tool box several times the latches fell off and the lid would not stay closed. Several attempts to fix the latches failed and the box was returned to the store. I purchased a better quality tool box for him and he is my shadow around the woodshop using his own tools

Rated 3 out of 5Â by DrBundy Good for LIGHT duty only
Bought this to hold some specialty use plumbing fittings that only get used once in a while and need to be kept together. Every time I opened it, the back right hinge came unattached. One part of the hinge only snaps in place to the other part of the hinge. There's no pin or anything else holding it in place. The material is flexible plastic, so popping it back in place works, but became such an annoyance after one day I returned it for a better made product. If you want to use this for LIGHT duty, then go ahead. The price is right.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Gonzo Homer changed quality and size
The new Homer toolbox provides no additional space by cubic inch, a tray that is smaller than the previous toolbox and a width that no longer fits well in tight spaces. The quality of the hinges has also been downgraded with only three hinges rather than the four we had before. The quality of the box itself is also cheaper with the locking clasps more like foil than hard metal. Overall, this new Homer is irritatingly junky. I hope HD doesn't covert all their products to similar quality reductions.
