Purchased this mower in the spring of 2011. Worked reasonably well for the first summer - squeaky wheels, very heavy to push, porr "suction" of fine grass - had to run over some spots 3 times. Battery stored over the winter as per directions - inside, charged regularly. Battery died July of 2012; battery warranty is only 1 year. Replacement cost nearly the cost of the mower. Have replaced with a gas mower which I should have bought in the first place. Would not recommend this product under any circumstance!!!

First I love my Ryobi tools, so to get one of there lawn mowers seemed like a no brainer. I am 6ft- 210 and work out allot, this thing drags me accross the lawn. It is heavy but I use more energy pulling back than I do pushing forward without the drive. My wife would not stand a chance. I phoned Ryobi thinking it was a defect, they told me that's the way it was designed! Who would design a lawn mower you have to fight with. It's going back

Rated 1 out of 5Â by smartcatxxx Very poor quality and very bad customer support
- cuts the grass and mulches it nicely
- easy to start
- self-propulsion is a nice to have
- really poor quality and bad customer support; used it for only 2 years and now it's dead
- handle cracked after only a few months
- started squeaking after a few months
- charger started malfunctioning after less than a year; waited for almost 4 months for a replacement; had to argue many times over the phone with their customer support
- battery connection overheated and melted the plastic holding the connection pins which then tore off, so now I cannot connect the battery to the body anymore, thus the unit is now unusable
- quite heavy

To be honest, this is a great mower. But your battery *will* die and Ryobi WILL NOT honor your warranty.
When it worked, it was awesome. But the battery will cost you half of a new mower and even if you take it to an authorized warranty center, you will never get a replacement. You'll be put on a indefinite wait list and never get a battery. The place near me (only one service place in a 30 mile radius around a major metro area) had about 10 of them waiting... all with dead batteries and no-one ever got one.
I'm well outside my return window with HD, so I'm stuck with it. AVOID THIS MOWER. Find a company willing to stand behind their product.

I've had this mower for only one season. I loved the quiet sound and it cut well. The mower is very heavy, so cutting on a hill was a problem. Even with my small lawn, the battery died before the lawn was cut. By the end of the summer however, the battery was dead! It leaked acid and had to be replaced. Of course, a new battery was both expensive and...not available until spring.
I bought a new gas mower and sent this mower to the landfill after only one season. Not environmentally friendly.
