Rated 4 out of 5Â by KnowWhentoFold Overkill for 110 volt fixture
This replaced a Ballast that ran old technology 40 watt bulbs. I don't why anyone would buy a ballast that can handle 277 volts for a 110 volt fixture. The HD employees directed me to this one. It works great, but I replaced it with a 110 volt ballast, also from Home Depot for about $6 less.
This and any other electronic ballast supporting T8 tubes (32 watts) will also operate well down to 0 degrees F. Lamps in old magnetic ballasts will begin flickering at about 50 degrees or colder.
Another impetus for upgrading your ballasts beyond the 20% energy savings, the T8 tubes will put as much or more light.
Both the slip that comes with the ballast and the label on the ballast give a bare-bones installation explanation.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by DIYer88 Easy replacement.
The Triad ballast on my closet fluorescent light went out and I need a quick replacement. After pulling the model information and heading to store I was able, with the help of an associate, to find the correct replacement. This replacement ballast fit perfectly into the holder and had long lead wires. I ended up using wire nuts to connect the wires to the existing sockets and after reassembling the fixture and installing the T8 tubes, it lit up just fine. My original fixture ballast lasted about six years so I hope this will last the same.

THOUGHT IT WOULD FIT BUT IT DIDN'T. THIS BALLAST IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND YOU'D BE BETTER OFF BUYING A WHOLE NEW FIXTURE.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by TomS Easy to install - RFI may be a problem
This ballast is extremely easy to install, having less wires to connect than most. If you can follow the wiring diagram printed on the case, you should have no problems.
However, the instructions say that it is for commercial use only. That perplexed me, as normally a commercial rated product is better and suitable for residential use. A close inspection of the label yielded a probable answer: It's FCC RFI (radio frequency interference) ratings are rather high. I tested it with a AM radio and confirmed this. The RFI isn't dramatic; it's only near the fixture while listening to a weak station that it's evident. But the flaw causes me to give it only four stars.
