My husband and I, being 'Do It Yourselfers', searched for a 12" X 12" tile that would be both resilient and enhance the beauty of our kitchen/ breakfast nook area. On Home Depot's website I discovered the TrafficMaster Ceramica Tile. It had the look of real ceramic and could be grouted if desired. After a visit to Home Depot, we chose the Alpine Marble in a shade of White with added flecks of gold. When it arrived, my husband installed the center of the floor in just one day. The instructions were very easy to follow. We had no problem cutting the rest to fill in and shape the outer corners and door ways. This tile is thicker than most and has rounded edges. Once completed the beauty of the marbled pattern throughout made our whole kitchen area appear larger. The floor has an awe of richness and also the durability needed. Our guests are impressed and ask me if it's real ceramic. I smile and say I'll never tell.

I made a checkerboard design with the Alpine Marble and the Alpine Marble Beige. It looks good in my retro kitchen.

I guess the big thing with this product is you need to order much more than the standard 10% waste (typical). It is sold online only so if you run into problems with the adhesive (usually is a problem and affects an entire box instead of one or two tiles) then you have to order more and wait to finish the install at a later time. Some times that's not a huge deal but if your installing it in an occupied rental unit you can't wait for another shipment and to be honest you shouldn't have to wait anyway.
Out of 4 boxes that I originally ordered, 2 were bad. The adhesive failed only after about two hours of being installed for one of the boxes and about a day later for the second. I bought more adhesive and tried to use that at first which seemed to work for the ones that failed from box 2. There was no hope for the tile from box one. They just wouldn't stick.
I called Home Depot's customer service and at first was of no help and said I had to return the product (unopened) to get a refund. After a few more minutes of explaining the situation I was able to work out a refund for box no. 1 and ordered another. It still took over a week for the new box to arrive so the floor ended up staying unfinished a week and a half longer then it needed to.
Bottom line is that even though when it was finally completed it looks great, I think I'm going to install real tile next time instead of waisting time and money on this product.
