Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 37 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS Trafficmaster Ceramica is the answer. Our bathroom had old rolled vinyl flooring that was giving it a tired and dated look. Our dilemma: We wanted the beauty and durability of ceramic tile, but didn’t want the coldness, cost, or installation ordeal associated with it. We also wanted the economy and ease of install that come with plain vinyl tile, but didn’t want the cheap look, lack of durability, and lingering smell that are intrinsic to those either. So we looked around Home Depot’s website and found the Ceramica. We needed something light but not white, and the Alpine Beige sounded from other reviews to be just that. Home Depot shipped it super fast and free. We installed ours right on top of the old rolled vinyl floor without grout, and it took two of us about 3 hours (and that included some tricky, time-consuming curves around the tub). We used a carpenter’s knife, a non-slip cutting board, and some cardboard for making templates for curved areas. TIP 1: Buy at least 15% more tiles than the square footage of your floor space. TIP 2: Buy a pack of extra blades for your knife; the ceramic bead coating on top of these makes them pretty tough. TIP 3: Using a cutting board is important. Don’t try to score new tiles on top of previously-laid tiles. TIP 4: The adhesive on these is very good. Be aware of that when handling tiles that have the paper removed. TIP 5: After install, wipe down the floor well to get rid of any residue before putting bath mats, etc. down on it. TIP 6: The tiles have a matte finish, but be mindful (as you would with any hard surface) when wet. The color of the Alpine Beige is ivory and cream (lighter than my pictures) with nice gold veins. I’m not usually a fan of marble, but these are beautiful. We’ve been walking on these tiles numerous times daily for a month, and none of them has lifted anywhere. I’ve also dropped a glass item that would have shattered on ceramic tile, and it came out unscathed on Ceramica. We love our floor more than we expected, and will definitely be installing Ceramica wherever else we can. June 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE the Floor! We never laid tile before so we weren't sure how this would go. After reading the reviews, we thought we'd try it. The reviews were right - it was easy to do and it looks great! Ceramica is perfect for the kitchen because if you drop something, it won't break and you won't end up with chipped or broken tile. In addition, it is warmer and more comfortable to walk on. August 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy install durable looks great I installed this myself in MArch 2012 but waited to review until we had used it for a while. It was very easy to install, a bit hard to cut just have a lot of utility blades. Round cuts are hardest straight cuts are easy. Good adhesion and I have not had any issues with seams coming up. I grouted and it looks like stone. Many people have touched to see if is stone. I put in my kitchen which has my main eating table with chairs that are pushed and pulled in and out daily. No scratches to date. No dings from dropped can goods either. We have had numerous gatherings with 20+ people and no harm done. I also put in my laundry room and entryway. Entryway I did some triangle cuts to make a design and was a bit worried about the edges since they are not rolled over but they have held up fine. Really pleased with the dark accent tiles i used in kitchen and entry way. See pics attached. Would like to have done a different design but limited in color choices. Would definitely recommend due to ease of installation, durability and inexpensive. January 21, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Fantastic DIY Project These tiles are very attractive and a great value. I was albe to do my entire kitchen for just over $200. Amazing! They look and feel like high quality material. Thankfully I had my dad help with this project. Not knowing anything and walking to this one may have been rough. However, there are plenty of resources for us newbies. I would still recommend a right hand man to help you snap your chalk line and moral support of coarse. A couple observations: • It's importants to lay no less than 6" of tile when possible. • Full tiles look best at entry ways to a room. • Make sure that the tiles are room temp before you lay them, because the adhesive doesn't activate as well in a cold environment. • Rent a vinyl roller from HD. It's worth the $20. • Have extra utility blades. These tiles shred blades fast! Good Luck! April 3, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Came out even better than we had expected!! LOVE IT! No complaints about this floor tile at all. Great choice to up- date with out having to go broke. People touch the tile to see if they are real ceramic because they look that good. Transformed my run down kitchen into a polished, stylish space. We will enjoy this tile for years to come. Easy to install. 6 months later and it is so easy to keep clean. The color is very forgiving because of the different shades of cloudy beige in a matte finish. Because we like it so much we are definitely going to do more rooms and may play with a different color border. This floor was basically installed in a day, the hardest part was making the cuts because the tiles are pretty thick. April 14, 2014
