My wife has limited mobility so I used the wireless door chime kit to provide a method of calling me if I am working in the shop or in the yard. The pushbutton is in the kitchen and the chime is in at and outside vent in my shop. This setup serves the intended purpose.

It's simple to install--plug in the ringer, attach the button to the door jamb--but the chime began to ring at random the first time it rained. Then, the button fell off the door jamb due to the inferior qualtiy of the foam adhesive tape. Easy enough to remedy, I thought, so I brought the button inside with the intention of re-attaching it with stronger adhesive...and I left the chime plugged it. I was shocked to discover that either gremlins have run of my home and are maniacally pushing the button, or the doorbell was defective, as it began ringing in the middle of the night. This is a terrible product, and I will be returning it post haste.

I you are having trouble with this device. There is an issue with the door bell's (transmitter) antenna. By attaching a paper clip to the top screen inside and looping it around the small metal bracket at the top you can increase the transmission range of the door bell. This worked for me.

This should work every time someone presses the doorbell, but it doesn't. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. It seems you have to hold the button on the doorbell down for at least 30 seconds for it to ring. Visitors/vendors get frustrated when no one answers the door.
