I accidently purchased the exact kit for a covered location. It came with conduit covered wires, wire nuts, conduit mounts, installation DVD, power cord, and an external power input plug. (Nice rig) I then saw this switch set which is an outside mount (comes with a sqare D cover box) for roughly $100.00 more dollars. I sent the first back and ordered this one. What a let down! what you see is what you get. I take that back they don't show the unreadable instructions, and the uncovered wire clusters hanging out the bottom of the unit. They also don't send a power cord, wire nuts, optional external plug, or an instructional DVD. Buy the cheaper one and pay for some caulk and a square D box. You will get much more for your money.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Sebastian Safe and reliable Outdoor Transfer switch
My main breaker box is outside, so I had to buy an outdoor transfer switch.
I chose Reliance, since I believe that they are really professional and customer friendly.
The transfer switch was pre-wired, so all I had to do was, install it on the brick wall, connect it to the breaker box through a supplied water tight flexible conduit.
There were twenty 12 gauge stranded wires for the 10 circuits and one each 10 gauge wire for Neutral and Ground.
It was a little too tight for the 22 wire to go though the 1 inch pipe. Other than that, everything went fine.Wiring to the breaker box was the easiest part, just under 30 minutes.
It was very easy to install.
I disconnected the handle ties for the two 240 volt circuits and used them for furnace fan, kitchen, microwave / vent hood and cloth washer.
I did a test run using my 7000 running watt generator connected to the house using the transfer switch, and I was very happy and very satisfied.
I can run the whole house, except the dish washer and central AC. Even if the AC does not work, all the fans and light will work. I am also happy since in winter, the heater will work, because it runs on Natural gas,and I have connected the furnace fan.
Another good feature of this transfer switch was that it had a pre-wired L 14- 30 connector to connect the generator to the transfer switch with 30 amp generator power cord.
It is weather proof too!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Aznracer2b Good but need more materials to work
Got it delivered and knew what I was expecting based on the reviews. In the box was the paneling, wires, and the one inch connectors in the box. The issue was finding a 1 inch conduit that would connect this panel to the Main panel. All needed was maybe 4-6 ft. Went to Home Depot thinking they would have but they dont. Instead I found some Spa flex pipe in the plumbing section that barely fit. Not sure how long this stuff lasts but it worked fitting with the 1 inch connectors in the box. I would give it 5 stars if they gave me conduit and lower pricing. Pricing was kinda high for what it comes with but for the supply and demand for this product I can see why. Box seems durable and heavy. Didnt need instructions since you can go on youtube to see how to wire. Product simple to use, even wife understood.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by JOHNja Reasonably easy install and great functionality
Required an outdoor switch with 10 circuits, power intlet and metering of watts. Instructions were clear and straight-forward, and made for an easy install. I just went through hurricane Sandy, and the switch provided me with peace of mind and seamless power protection. I highly recommend the switch.
