I've used a cheaper fan in my bedroom for many years, and while it's worked and it does it's job fairly well, there is a noticeable hum of the motor when it's on, which is just a bit too annoying when it's on high - and it moves virtually NO air when it's on low, so medium has been the ONLY viable use for it, ever. I had always assumed that was just the norm for ceiling fans.
Boy was I pleasantly surprised when we put this in my master bedroom in my new house two weekends ago. While it certainly wasn't a "5 minute" project, it didn't take more than a half hour, and it went in without a hitch. I was absolutely stunned when we turned it on - the only noise is the whisper of the wind being moved. You can't even hear the motor working at all, and it was absolutely, perfectly balanced without any adjustment whatsoever, even on the highest setting.
I can't speak for the longevity of this fan, seeing as I've only had it two weeks now, but the medium and high settings move a LOT of air to make it quite pleasant in a VERY large master bedroom and is stunningly quiet. This is a quaint thing to note, but the pulls that were included are pretty neat - very heavy, with a picture of a light and a picture of a fan on each of them to designate which pull goes to which setting. They feel so "expensive" with their heavy weight when you actually pull them!
I hope there's actually something to that "dust armor" and it isn't just a marketing scheme... but either way, I'd say if it keeps working as it does now, I'm an extremely satisfied customer, and am looking to replace my jenky, unbalanced, loud, not-very-air-moving ceiling fan in the living room immediately with another Augusta by Hunter!

Purchased this Hunter Augusta to replace another Hunter fan that had so much motor noise it reverberated through the house. I should have returned that one but never had time or patience to take it down to do so.
Anyway on to this model. Box claims to be 99% assembled.
Sort of. I will commend Hunter for doing away with the awkward blade assembly where you have to attach the brackets to the blades and then the blades to the motor housing. With a 5 blade fan, that 30 screws. This new method of press and fit makes blade attachment easy. So 5 stars for that.
The fan quality is ok at best. At the highest speed the motor hums to the point of being annoying and loud. Fortunately we almost always use the middle speed setting and there the motor is relatively quiet. I can still hear some hum but my wife cannot. Of course I often remind her as in the Christmas Vacation movie, she couldn't hear a dump truck being driven through a nitroglycerin factory....but I digress.
The motor attachment to the ceiling bracket also deserves kudos, attaching wires while holding 40 pounds of motor never was fun. The Hunter brackets where you hang the fan and then attach the wires makes that much easier and safer.
If you do use the single switch setting you will need a red wire nut to handle all three wires safely. The orange nuts that are provided should only be used to twist two wires.
Finally, the new way of attaching the light housing is also much easier with a simple one connector connection.
I liked that the fan came with 4 CFL bulbs as well.
For the price this is a decent fan for a room that is used occasionally like our spare room.
I would not recommend it for a master bedroom or a bedroom with a light sleeper, the motor noise may be a bit much.
Clearly if you want a quiet motor you need to spend twice this and get a top of the line Hunter or a Casablanca.
Almost forgot the box claims "5" minute install, well, even using the existing ceiling bracket from the old fan (identical in every way) this install took me 30 minutes including bulbs and glass.
Hope this helps.

I don't care for the fan speeds. The high speed setting is really fast, but but the medium is really slow. Not much difference between medium and slow speeds. It would have been nice for the medium speed to be halfway between the high and low settings. If you don't mind not having a true medium speed setting the fan is otherwise very nice.
Hired a professional to install and it took him awhile. Glad I didn't try to install myself. The pre-assembly didn't help the electrician install it any quicker than the 3 fans not pre-assembled.

I've never installed a ceiling fan before this and it was much more simple than I imagined. Works great and is extremely quiet. Very happy with the purchase.

Great fan and the motor is very quiet...however, the starting capacitor is prone to failure within a year or two which manifests itself in a humming sound at all speeds.....hard to sleep at night. Recommend the manufacturer makes this capacitor be available as a replacement part to the owner so the fan can be repaired instead of replaced under the limited lifetime warranty.
