Love the look of my new living room carpet. My husband was not sure about putting in carpet tiles but loves the results. Unless you know they are tiles, you cannot tell.

Love this product! I was a little afraid after reading some reviews, but I took the plunge and I'm very happy. Like other have posted, some pieces are not completely square, but we managed to make them work. I used a staple gun and tacked down all 4 corners ensuring they wouldn't budge when vacuumed or if furniture is slid across the room. The pile is descent and the pad is probably of medium density--compared to our old carpet it's super thick! We laid almost 600 square feet in the course of two weekends, including tearing up the old carpet and moving all the furniture. Very easy. I recommend using a utility knife and cutting the carpet on a smooth, hard surface (the exposed subfloor worked just fine). When first laid it doesn't feel like it's very adhesive, but give it a few days for the glue to take and it'll be firmly attached. Oh, if you're wondering, the carpet comes in square boxes that are very light, so practically anyone can manage them.

I was initially sceptic when I purchased this carpet because I was unable to get a sample. The carpet was soft and cushy. Easy installation, but be prepared to use several box blades as they will dull easily. Using two colors was really easy and the results look great, to me!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Cline Great Value for DIYs
My husband and I needed to install carpet in 3 bedrooms. We got a quote for installation and at the time weren't quite ready to make the decision. We did a lot of research and decided to try these carpet tiles based on the positive reviews of other users. If you are looking for a good value and used to doing home projects you'll love these tiles!
-We can order one room at a time and move things as it's convenient for us.
-Speaking of moving things, you can move things from one side of the room to the other as you install.
-Installation was easy and fast. Took us about 2 1/2 hours for a small room but we expect the next room to go a lot faster.
-Company does offer samples from their website, although we just ordered the lightest color--it was a little darker than we expected but a nice neutral.
-Easy to cut we used scissors and knife depending on what we were cutting.
-Adhesive works great--re-positional as you install but doesn't budge once room is complete.
-We had very little scraps left over for this particular room. (10 by 10, plus small closet)
-After vacuuming we could not see the seams.
Things to be aware of:
-The padding and weight of the carpet is matched to the price. It is adequate but not impressive.
-Installation was tricky at the beginning because it is essential that the carpet fibers don't get caught between each pad. I ended up using a flat piece of trim from the garage to hold back the fibers as we laid each square. A t-square or level would probable work also.
-We had to keep using the dust buster in our work space as the carpet shed (like all new carpet)
Overall, we feel like we are saving a good bit of money and installing in a much more convenient way. We definitely would recommend this product.

This color (Espresso) is available only online but since it meets the free shipping limit (although it is more expensive per SF than store stock) it is probably a wash.
Follow the instructions that are downloadable from the HD website and you cannot go wrong. Total time to do a 200 SF room with two cut walls was approx. 2 1/2 hours.
Our application was a basement guest bedroom on smooth concrete. The adhesive backed foam may not seem to be sticky enough when you remove the plastic backing, but don't worry about it, it sticks...quite well too. The carpet squares are easy to cut with a utility knife and even after putting a cut edge to a factory edge, I could not see the seam.
For the best look, I would recommend that you install the squares so the arrow is perpendicular to your line of site. It seems to me that the carpet seams are less noticeable that way. Also, due to a carpet transition strip at the door, I chose to add a few sprays of 3M spray adhesive (available at HD) for added holding power...but that is me, you may not even need it.
Even though there is padding attached, you will not get the soft feel of 1/2" good grade carpet pad. It will be adequate, but if you plan to lay on the floor, in my opinion it will seem a bit hard. We chose to go with a traditional carpet in our basement media room because of this. That being said, it really looks nice, installs easily, and I certainly would use this product again.
Now, one con. The tiles are not all the same size. Out of 5 boxes (50 pcs) there were about 10% (5 tiles) that were from 1/4" to 1/2" short. This is NOT a big problem if the shortness is with the length of the run. I just cannot figure out why, if the tile is machine cut, there could be that much difference in the size. So, as is typical in ALL installations. Plan for a 10% scrap factor.
