CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 45 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good fan for the price. Poor illumination. The fan is really silent even at the max speed. Good quality and craftsmanship. In my case the only downside is the extremely low light coming out of this fan/lamp. The color on the glass and the finish on the fan makes it difficult to illuminate an area even a small one. The lamp uses chandelier bulb with a max of 60 watts (3), Since both of the fans were already installed (my wife wanted to return and get different with more light) but no way that I will be doing that. So I ended modifying the lamp by using a white diffuser (sold in L...S) and using fluorescent bulbs. Way more bright now, so the photo shown is different from the box. Brighter and energy efficient. No need to do balance work to get them at work. Definitely recommended but be advised that small bulb with low wattage and really dark glass will result in minimal illumination. September 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sophisticated decor I actually bought 2 of these fans. One was an addition and one replaced a 40 year old fan that broke. I chose these because they were modern-looking and fit in my decor. The electrician who installed them had a little trouble figuring out how to put some parts together, but he got it. He had no problem installing the second one and did it in half the time. My only complaint was that the description on the box was worded in such a way that led me to believe that it included a 17 inch downrod. There was only a 2 inch downrod so the wording is deceptive. I had to make a trip back to the store (25 miles one way) just to get a downrod. Nevertheless, it is very quiet and the price was reasonable. September 3, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very Poor Quality Manufacturing, Don't Buy This Fan I have now installed two of this same model, both of which failed in the exact same way. The switch that operates the fan (not the light) failed and appears to bind to the point where you can't pull or retract the chain. When removing the fan for return to HD, I examined the switch which is in the lighting kit and it really deepened my frustration. The switch appears to have partially melted, a black wire that ran into the switch simply fell out like it had never really been attached and you could see through the clear plastic of the switch housing that the chain had become fouled in a spring mechanism in the switch. I am returning this fan, getting my money back and I am absolutely not replacing it with anything made by Hampton Bay or related companies. September 30, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Very poor light The fan works well as a fan, but not as a light. It's not bright at all and since the area that holds the light bulbs is very tight, its hard to find a better light bulb that will fit in there. It was also missing pieces out of the box and had to go through customer service for replacement parts. September 2, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Defective Fan Switch. Poor Light Output Install took a couple hours because the remote control they ( Home Depot Rep) picked out for me would not operate the unit. Tried multiple options, uninstalled and tried again with it hung from a garage rafter. Still would not operate. Gave up and installed without the remote. After 8 months, the pull chain switch has stopped operating the fan and is stuck. Contacted Hampton Bay customer service and they advised they can send a new switch for me to install. I am sure it is past time for a return but would love to exchange this unit if they would take it back. The fan looks decent and runs quiet. July 29, 2014
