CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 5 out of 5 by You MUST keep this charged over the winter! OK. Here's the deal, people. I'm not saying it's fair or that you necessarily should have known or anything like that. But this is the way that it is: if you have this 24V battery and associated tool(s) and charger, you MUST occasionally re-charge the battery over the winter or whenever it is sitting idle. The protection circuitry constantly draws a small charge from the battery, and will, over a couple months, drain it down to nothing. You can not let it sit at nothing for a long time. If you do, you WILL KILL IT. So, over the winter, every so often, I push the button to check the charge. When it gets down to one or two bars, I give it a recharge. I've had my 24V string trimmer for two years now, and the battery is just as powerful and long lasting as when I first got it. And it's because I have made sure to keep it from sitting totally discharged. Li-ion chemistry has issues when the voltage between anode and cathode gets too high (it explodes!) and when it gets too low (it reacts and ruins the battery and can vent when recharged after this). This is why all Li-ion batteries sold to consumers have protection circuitry to guard against over-voltage and short-circuit. Unfortunately, it can't guard against under-voltage besides preventing power-draw from the terminals. So if it gets drained down, then sits, the protection circuitry will continue to draw power. And will ruin the battery. So keep these things charged during off-times if you want them to last! June 1, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Expensive battery, but fast to recharge The battery recharges amazingly fast. Disappointed that 1) there aren't any more 24v devices sold in Home Depot stores (I bought a special set of trimmer and hedge clipper); had I known, I would have bought the more powerful trimmer, and 2) the battery was as costly as the set I bought. Rated 1 out of 5 by Battery id DEAD afteer 5 uses This battery died after the 4th charge (charger deemed it "defective") - trimmer works great when the battery is working but lasts only 20 minutes of intermittent trimming/edging. August 13, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by worse thing I bought last year. This year I tried to charge the battery , but it is completely dead. I never recommend anybody to buy this battery. May 2, 2014
