CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3 out of 5 by 12 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Installation instruction are wrong Masco Bath I would recommend the product with telling the person not to follow the instruction sheet. And I would warn about the soap dish not being properly positioned. I recently purchased a tub surround model # 671-3542 39124 . I'm sure that you welcome feedback from your consumers. Here it is. In the store, it looks great. Made of acrylic it looks solid. So I bought it. This is not the first tub surround that my wife and I install. (This is the 5th house that we own). So, we started to prep the walls. While my wife was doing the final touch, I opened the box and read the instructions. It says to install the ends first then the back wall. I mentioned that to my wife and we both thought that it was wrong. But we thought that we should do it the way the manufacturer says to do it. So we proceeded to install the end piece where the faucets are. Then we did a "dry run" with the back wall piece just to see how it would fit. We have a window on that wall. We then realized that it wouldn't fit. We had planned to stop for lunch but it's a good thing that we didn't. We had to quickly cut out the window opening to get it ready. Then we had to lift the edge of the end piece in order to slide the back wall piece behind. It's a good thing that we didn't stop for lunch because the glue would have set. Then we installed the other end piece and everything fits fine. You should review your installation instructions. Then we installed the shower doors that we had previously. We have a regular size bathtub. Nothing fancy. Run of the mill standard size tub. Why do you build a tub surround that overlaps the tub by over an inch? And why don't you mold the soap dish in the middle of the tub? The molded soap dish is 11/16" outside of the center of the end wall piece. That makes the soap dish about 2" off the faucets which ARE in the middle of the tub. Then if you look at the doors, it really looks bad. The soap dish is 1 ½ " from the doors and 6 ½ " from the wall. It looks like an amateur installed this, but it wasn't. The plumber installed the faucets in the middle of the tub and I installed the doors in the tub's edge where they should be. The amateurs are the manufacturers of the tub surround. Like I mentioned at the beginning, it looks great in the store. But when it's installed where there are faucets and doors........... Just in case you want send me a copy & paste reply, don't bother. Rated 1 out of 5 by very disappointed This was a big project for me -- borrowed a truck to transport the tub surround, pulled off tile and drywall, re-did the plumbing, finally ready to install the tub surround when I discovered that the side panel soap dish is in the way of my tub/ shower faucet handle. So I can't use this tub surround. There are two other soap dishes, so why design one more where all the plumbing goes? Why not have the panel where the plumbing goes just be flat -- it would be so much more helpful! I am frustrated! Before purchasing this product (seems to be durable) make sure your faucet handle is no higher than 36" above your tub. September 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Best!!! I spend several weeks at numerous online sites and in person at several Home Improvement stores and looked at hundreds of tub surrounds. This one is clearly one of the best in this price range. It is perfect. The panels are thicker than every single one that I looked at. This is the second tub surround I have put in this same bathroom and it is way better than the previous. I highly recommend this to anyone looking in the $200 to $300 range. This tub surround cost extra to have it shipped to my house but was well worth it. Home Depot did an excellant job at handling the transaction as well as the shipping company. May 29, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice looking tub surround for the price Looks very nice, price was good. Be careful, HD had an instore model identical to this one but $60 more and under different name. Also, be careful when installing, instructions are wrong, install long wall piece first then the end pieces. Finally if tub area is less than 32 inches deep the shelves on the end pieces will be a little off centered when trimmed. My tub was 60 x 30 so end shelves are about an inch off center once I trimmed to fit my tub area. September 2, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not balanced and design is awkward I installed this and when putting up the side walls I was "committed" to installing it, but not happy. The quality is good, but the design should be changed. First off, just put the handle for the wash rag on one side, not both. Next, they are 7" from the wall, and 6" from the outside. Since I had to cut around 4" off the outside wall it looks way off balance. This is the only reason I would not recommend this product. Lastly, the directions did not say of you put the wall piece from corner to corner, or from the gaps that are "cut out" into each side piece. October 29, 2012
