Rated 4 out of 5Â by bigbrew1 Looks good, very easy installation .
I replaced an older model Hampton Bay fan with this one. The installation was very easy even by myself. I am not sure I like the special light socket and bulb, I guess that will depend on the life of the bulb and replacement cost.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by DrewL Works great and nice looking...but one drawback
Fan looks nice and operates quietly and smoothly. My only problem is that the light only uses special CFL bulbs (GU24) which cost much more than regular CFL bulbs (2-5x). Why, why, why did they do this. You save money on the electricity, but Hampton Bay then makes you waste money on a special bulb. Makes absolutely no sense. Also can't substitute with an incandescent bulb, which means you can never use a dimmer to control this light.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by FanMan Nice Ceiling Fan For the Price, But...
Nice looking, very quiet operating fan at even the highest speed that moves a lot of air, and an excellent value for its Home Depot price. I had 2 of them installed by a painting contractor whom quickly installed these 2 Hampton Bay fans without any problem. But, there was one issue or problem that was discovered during the installation of these 2 identical model/part # Hampton Bay fans that caused me a lot of unnecessary time to address and is a direct reflection of Hampton Bay's obviously very poor quality control process in their overall manufacturing of products. Of these 2 identical (Model & Part #) Hampton Bay ceiling fans that I had bought from the local Home Depot store on the same day; one had the GU40 type light sockets and the other had the typical Edison screw type light bulb sockets. The Hampton Bay manual/installation guide on the Home Depot website for this specific model ceiling fan even states that it takes (2) 60w max GU40 bulbs which come in the box with the fan. The one with the Edison type light sockets even had GU40 type bulbs in the box. A week prior to having these fans installed; I had dimmer switches installed for them. Knowing that the GU40 bulbs that came with the fans, were not the dimmerable type; I checked the Home Depot website which stated that my usual local store had a half dozen in-stock of the GU40 dimmerable bulbs. Go there the very next morning to find out that they don't have any; drive 20 mins to another Home Depot store and they do. Then today, I have to drive back to that other Home Depot store to return 2 of those GU40 dimmerable bulbs and buy 2 Edison type dimmerable bulbs, all because Hampton Bay failed to install the correct light sockets in their product that were supposed to be and even the non-dimmerable GU40 light bulbs that they had included in the box with this new ceiling fan weren't compatible. Bottom line; this occurrence makes the quality of any Hampton Bay manufactured product, very questionable.
