I have a place in Jamaica, where electricity is around US$0.50 per Kilowatt hour! compared to my $0.12 in Florida. Too expensive to run A/C. This unit was not the simplest to install, but makes up for all the effort in power savings. I estimate its paid for itself in the year I have it running almost 24/7. A regular A/C motor fan uses around 45 watts regardless of speed but these DC motor unit uses 3 watts at speed 1 and around 25 watts at full hurricane speed (6). Great buy and is attractive too, not to mention no noise or humming! Well worth the price. The remote does all the work but don't loose it...Good price compared to other DC fans.

I installed this in my master bedroom. During the summer we run the fan all night long so I wanted something energy efficient...and you can't beat this. It's nearly 3x the cfm/watt as any other energy star ceiling fan.
Only issue I had was one screw hole to hang the glass for the light fixture was to small...and the Decorative screw wouldn't thread. Just used another screw in its place. If you pay attention you'll notice...but that requires paying attention, which no one does.

Bought this fan because I needed one to mount on an 8' ceiling and needed remote. Installation was easy. When I turned it on, the motor turned about 2" then stopped. Turns out the motor was bad. Home Depot took it back without any questions. I haven't given up on the fan as yet and will re-order another one. Maybe got a lemon.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Dave Super quiet, great-looking fan
I bought two of these fans and they are great! They look amazing and they're the most quiet fans I've ever (not) heard. The only thing I can't comment on is installation as our house builder did the install for us.
Everyone who comes in to new house comments on the fans and asks where we got them

Over the span of a few months, I purchased four of these Winfield model fans. Everything is great EXCEPT that I'm having an issue with the remotes. Each remote will control fans in other rooms and even other floors! The remotes will even control a different model HB fan that I previously installed.
Followed the instructions on the remote, changed the dip settings on the remote (cannot access dip settings in the fan) set up but still no luck. Talked to several reps at Home Depot and no luck there, either.
After fully installing four of these, I'd hate to have to take them down from 9' ceilings, take them apart to see if there is indeed something inside the motor housing I need to adjust (the motor housing shipped pre-assembled).
Anyone have any ideas?
