Bought this online from Home Depot to use as a second washing machine for washing bedding items and towels used on my elderly pets who have imperfect bladder control and sometimes have the runs. It was delivered, to the front door, within a week.
There are lots of positive and negative comments on the internet on this machine, and those comments are for the most part quite true. On the plus side, the machine is not big, but can wash a small load (about 6 bath towels, I would say) and cleans very well. It certainly does the job I want it to do. I was impressed how well it cleaned actually. It is not very noisy but does make some noise; not as quiet as expensive front load machines but quieter than my previous very old top load machine. It is not big and weighs 65 lbs so even though it does not come with wheels or casters, it can be lifted up and carried by two persons easily (We carried it up two flights of stairs). It is plastic looking, but I don't think it is any more flimsy than more expensive standard size washers, which also have many plastic components.
On the minus side, as per other online comments, the bottom noise damper can be difficult to install; we finally succeeded after trying for 10 minutes. The lint filter is already installed even though the manual says you need to install it. The washer hose that comes with the machine is PVC and leaks at the connections on both ends and so I replaced it with a stainless steel one and then there was no leak. The supplied drainage hose is also plastic but works well; we put it into our laundry room sink. The LED indicator on the control panel is difficult to read.
Overall I am happy with my purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Dimitar washer broke after 9 months, was ok while lasted
I purchased the washer in Feb 2013 and used it until yesterday when it made a bang while spinning, spilled water and now it just spins continuously when it is turned on.
While it worked, it did wash the clothes ok and it does save you time just do not expect it to last. It has a lot of plastics. One month after we started using it, it cracked at the top left corner where one of the mounting screws is, but it was not deal breaker. I hope to have it fixed quickly, but looks like it will take at least a week.
Bottom line: not reliable for primary washer; it is ok for occasional wash (for example at the cottage or summer house).

Rated 4 out of 5Â by JSWinnipeg Haier 1.46 Washing Machine
We received this Feb 11, 2014 and were able to do about 10 loads before the control panel froze. It was stuck on "01" and none of the buttons worked. We tried new outlets, water on/off, and letting the machine just sit. We called Haier and unfortunately they don't have technicians in the Winnipeg area but they promised to get back to us in a few days. To our surprise, 3 days later the machine was functioning again! Maybe it just got wet or maybe the power source in the apartment was intermittent, but we were able to do another load. Sadly, it froze after that and stuck again on "01" and then turned itself off after about a minute. We decided that the inconsistency was enough not to wait for a tech and had a very easy time returning it to Home Depot in town, without a restocking fee-and we received a full refund! I will say though, that when this machine worked, it was amazing. Our clothes were very clean. This machine is quieter than a vaccuum cleaner and didn't leak once we tightened the hoses. I would recommend this product in spite of everything that happened, and chose only personally not to wait for a technician or the ordering of parts, etc. Also, the rep at Haier was very nice and didn't dispute my issue. Their one year warranty seems pretty concrete.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by washer5 excellent machine but ....
The machine itself washes great but the hoses that come with it are no good at all. We ended up using the hoses off our old machine. They had no length or strength. This washing machine was described as portable but it was not. The wheels were absolutely useless. We had to buy new wheels for the machine - when it says portable we expected it to be moveable. This is a machine that we put away and wheel out when needed. Despite these correctable concerns the machine washes just great. There are no problems at all with this - we're very happy with the washing machine.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by inaudiblemelodies Great for Apartments
This machine has been such a time saver! I used to have to lug my laundry up a set of stairs, across the building and then down two sets of stairs into the basement. I used to love doing to laundry - often to find that someone else was already doing their (we only have one machine in the building for 4 apartments).
This apartment washer is great! You have to be careful not to over load the machine with too many heavy items or else it will keep stopping for you to readjust the load. However I have no problem doing a few loads a week. Would highly recommend.
