Rated 5 out of 5Â by David Bright LED replacement for PAR30 flood lights
I bought one of these last week at my local store to see how it would work out. I choose this one as it gives off much more light (1100 lumens) than similar CFL bulbs that I might choose. For reference the 14-15 watt CFL bulbs I saw were rated at 600-700 lumens.
I would call the color "daylight" as it appears very similar to the color impression you have outside in the sun. It seems "colder" than ordinary incandescent bulbs, which are way on the yellow side. With this bulb, whites appear white rather than yellowish. It is a little surprising at first, but our eyes got used to it within a day and I am pleased with the more daylight-like lighting now.
The unit itself feels solid and hefty - like you bought a solid metal light bulb! The box says it has a 5 year warranty.
Anyway I liked it, and my wife suggested we get some more, so I already bought 2 more.

Silent, low-heat operation combined with a beautiful even beam of light makes this a very attractive bulb for use in filmmaking.
Reads exactly 4900K, with no green or magenta tint (adios, CFLs!) no need for minusgreen gels :D

I was referred to these bulbs by a friend who has been using them for a long time now. I used them to replace outdoor security bulbs and am impressed with how they immediately illuminate and do so quite brightly. They provide a light that is easier to distinguish objects at night. I also look forward to saving on my electric bill, given their energy efficiency.

I just bought one of these to try, and I'm going back for more! I love the 4900K color temperature (daylight), and it's very bright. It works perfectly with my existing dimmers. I agree with some that the beam spread is a little narrow, but that just creates a more dramatic interior. Everything in your house should not be evenly illuminated. Oh, they look really cool up in the ceiling, too!
