After 20+ years of fresh cut Christmas trees, we decided to switch to fake, but a whimsical fake, not a phony fake. We had a green wire tree like this one but it conked out after about 5 years. Fortunately we found this white one. It is easily to unpack, set up, and pack up. Worked right out of the box. Some people think we're nuts having this tree, but we call it our Ironic Tree and have a lot of fun with it. Plus the cat doesn't attack it!

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Tako Tree lasted 1 Month
The tree was beautiful when I put it up on my lawn. I purchased additional lights to make it a center of my display. After one month it started to dim and then went out. I was able to get it working by removing the inline electric unit, but less than 75% of the lights now work. There were only two replacement bulbs and one of those was DOA.

Bought this for the 2012 season, the first bit of rain we had it went dim and stopped working. Thought it was a fuse, only came with one spare fuse. So I waited until I took it down for the season, bought a pack of fuses and replaced them, still didn't work. Because I was lazy and waited to try and fix it i could not return it to the store, my bad. So, I took apart the control module to find the circuit board had failed when it got wet (poor sealant used by the manufacturer). Based on the number of posts outdoor use has a very high failure rate. Good product if you use it indoors only. Cannot find a replacement module anywhere :( So its either direct wire it and properly seal/waterproof it or trash it (80 bucks down the toilet). Save your money if the intent is to use it outdoors.

I love this tree. I have it outdoors and it looks great. Easy to assemble and very colorful.

Lasted one Christmas season and a couple of weeks into the 2012 Christmas season. 2011 when I bought it it worked and looked great. Plugged it in 2012, it still worked and looked great. After a few days of rain, it slowly started dying out and now doesn't work at all. At no time was any part of the tree or electrical connections sitting in puddles of water. For $70 this thing should give me more then 1 full Christmas season. No mfgr. warranty. Only 90 day return policy. It's too bad, because like I said when it worked it looked really nice.
