Rated 3 out of 5Â by Tony Looks good, replacement bulb might be hard to find.
Appearance is great, pull chain for fan little difficult to pull, replacement CFL bulb might be hard to find (it connects via 2 electrodes, it doesn't just screw in like normal CFL light bulbs) A little difficult to pull the pullchains through the light fixture.

THE MOUNTING BRACKET TO CEILING IS LONG BECAUSE THEY WANT YOU TO SCREW INTO THE STUDS IN CEILING INSTEAD OF USING THE SCREWS INTO CEILING BOX. THE HOUSING IS EVEN BIGGER BECAUSE IT NEEDS TO COVER THE MOUNTING BRACKET SO WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE FAN ALL YOU SEE IS THE HOUSING. IT MAKES THE FAN LOOK SMALL. ALSO, THE HOUSING DOES NOT COME WITH A BEAUTY RING SO THE 2 SCREWS ON EITHER SIDE (4 TOTAL) TO ATTACH HOUSING TO BRACKET ARE ALL YOU SEE WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE FAN. POOR DESIGN. FOR $145 DOLLAR PRICE I WOULD THINK THEY COULD COME UP WITH A BETTER WAY TO HIDE THE SCREWS. WE BOUGHT TWO OF THEM AND I INSTALLED BOTH AND NEXT DAY I TOOK THEM BOTH DOWN AND RETURNED THEM.

The online order showed up ahead of time in perfect shape.
Installation was straightforward and there were no surprises.
Hunter quality cannot be beat. I've had Hunter fans for many years. This space and energy saver is just the ticket for the kitchen taking the place of tube lights. Replacing the provided light kit bulbs with cool white bulbs improved visibility for kitchen work.

This is a great basic room fan. Not only is it well made, but it does not hang down too low on 8' ceilings (my husband is tall). Also, this fan will take a larger light bulb than most ceiling fans, which actually provides adequate room light for an average bedroom. We loved this style so much that we bought 3 of them for 3 adjacent bedrooms!

This fan itself is pretty and moves air nicely but I cannot get the houseing to sit flush against the ceiling. It is down about 1/2 inch and three people determined that it was installed per instructions, so I contacted Hunter via their website but have not heard from them. It has been a few days. The space makes it look like it is not installed properly. The bracket seems like it is not proper for this fan. Oh, and the instructions left a little to be desired. The only reason I am not recommening it is because I havn't figured out if this is a design flaw or a part issue or an installation issue.
