CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 295 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by new formulation bubbles Used this paint to go over a wall previously painted a month ago with Behr premium in the same color. But had to use this new formulation as they have changed to this new version in the meantime. I have never hated Behr paint although it does get very gummy when you over roll it, and despite it seeming thick, it does not cling to the wall and runs and drys very thin when cutting in. The new zero VOC formulation still has those same faults, but now it has an added feature that causes the paint to bubble up. Lots of little bubbles form under the paint film as it dries and don't appear until the next day. Clients love that. Now I have to go back and scrape dried bubbles, fill in the small divots, and re paint with a different brand. Will not use this new formulation again. May 11, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by this product has a high sheen for an eggshell Used this brand years ago and now very disappointed in the product I purchased. Paint was thick, like very heavy cream. This paint was hard to spread, went on very blotchy and coverage was poor. For an eggshell finsh it has very high sheen, again it dries with many flaws. January 24, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Poor coverage--dark color over tinted primer I have a 150+ year-old house with real plaster walls and have been painting since I was in high school 30+ years ago. At the recommendation of the "paint professional" I sealed the walls with KILZ oil base tinted a pink color and then used a maroon colored Behr Premium Plus, fully expecting to do two coats with some areas possibly requiring three. I did not expect to have to do four or five coats, and cutting in was even worse as the paint did not do much in the way of "self priming" over the other primer. Once it dried, there were thin spots eveywhere with evenly applied and consistent KILZ underneath. Quite frankly, I did better with some paint I got at a well known discount store that sells everything from groceries to car service a couple years ago. It, too, was self-priming and was a similar dark red color, but my son successfully painted it over dark green in only two coats with minor touch ups required at the end. I wish I could say that the "New" (according to the label on the can) Behr Premium Plus out performed the other paint, but it did not. I thought I'd do better with Behr, but I'm not so sure based on the splotchy results I got and over a lighter color to boot. I was somewhat disappointed and am not sure I would recommend spending the extra money on the "plus" version of this paint. August 11, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Poor coverage. We found that this paint is no better than any other paint on the market and did not cover in one coat. Although we were told it would. Very disappointed... October 17, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Another poor paint product... I'm a commercial contractor and do a considerable amount of painting and understand the importance of only having to do the job once. Thought I would give it a try since consumer reports gave it a decent rating. That being said, don't believe everything they print... Poor coverage over even similar shades. Watery and very susceptible to runs when cutting in. Used more paint and time because multiple applications were required. Would NOT recommend! February 13, 2014
