Rated 4 out of 5Â by HobbyWoodworker007 2 out of 3 Worked. I returned the defective unit.
I was replacing similar remote controls. My Home Depot expert told me that I had to replace both the transmitter with the receiver for them to work. He was wrong. I have Hunter fans. I set the 4 dip switches to match the receiver already there, did not wire the unit as per the instructions, AND IT WORKED. This tells me that these 4 dip switch settings are universal. I did have to replace both the receiver and transmitter on one of the fans because both were defective. Now we will see how long they last! Two out of the 3 units that I purchased worked fine, while one was defective, but I returned the defective unit for a credit, no problem.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by PeteH Wall-mount remote replaces a handheld remote
Wall-mount remote switch replaces a handheld remote which gets lost or hidden by my twin boys...
Remote works with wired power, or, it is powered by a 12V battery (included). I didn't have to attach any wires for the remote, which was my main concern.
I already had the fan's (included) receiver installed so didn't have to wire that part.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Annette Love the product, but didn't work with our fan
We purchased this Hampton Bay ceiling fan/light after 1) calling Hampton Bay about our particular ceiling fan/light and finding out which controllers were compatible with our fan and 2) speaking to a Home Depot "technician" who claimed to be an electrician and verified this particular device would work with our fan. But unfortunately the online description did not indicate it will not work with a ceiling fan with halogen bulbs. Our Hampton Bay ceiling fan/light has halogen bulbs, so when we received the product and read the insert, that's when we found out it was incompatible with what we have. The electrician hooked it up anyway and all the lights did was flicker on and off. So we needed to return it. I like the controller-the look of it and all the neat functions and was hoping it would work for us. I just wish we could have known ahead of time so as not to waste time in ordering something that was not going to work. I gave the overall rating a 4 instead of a 5 since I felt the online description should have included this important piece of information for the consumer. If it would have worked for us, I would have been thrilled with the product. We ended up finding another solution, so it all worked out in the end.

Looks great and installation not too difficult but operating the fan via the buttons doesn't work consistently.

Rated 4 out of 5 Ceiling fan wall control
I could not stand to have another remote sitting around or looking for it when something needed to be adjusted. The lady at Home Depot showed us this wall mount unit that eliminates the need for hand held unit. We bought two, one for the den, the other in the master bed room. Imagine turning on the over head light by touching a button on the light switch and always knowing where the on/off clicker is. the instructions were not as simple as they would have you understand. Once shown by a electrician over at the house for something else I was embarrassed by the ease and simplicity. If your house is like mine and no one ever puts the clicker back in the same place twice - this wall switch is invaluable.
