We had major reservations using a "Pre-Fab" enclosure on a remodel job, as we usually do custom tile enclosures. Due to a customers budget, she chose to use this system.
Make sure you inspect all components at the store (this means open the box and see if there is any damage to the pieces.) There will be three wall sections and a base.
Preparation: Your walls must be PERFECTLY SQUARE and the base PERFECTLY LEVEL to install this enclosure properly. If you are remodeling your bathroom, you will have to frame out the rough opening to the specified dimensions exactly, otherwise this system will not fit together properly. Take the time to frame per the instructions as this is the most important step. You will be totally frustrated if you shortcut this step.
Once everything is framed out (they give you nice templates for the drain piping), the base can be set in place. Make sure you accurately mark and cut the faucet openings, as you only get one chance to get it right.
Once your openings are cut, the wall installation is fairly easy with two people, assuming everything was framed square and level and to the proper dimensions.
The wall sections just slid down over a lip and went directly in place by a guide. Just repeat with all three wall sections and secure to the wall with screws. The design required no caulk joints and fit together very well.
The product did not come with a door. We used a Kohler double sliding glass door with this installation. Door installation was easy because the frame was square.
Be advised, I don't believe this type of job will be tackled by the average homeowner, but if you can read instructions, have the proper tools and are willing to take the time to put it all together, anyone can install one of these.
After everything was finished, our customer was very happy with the end result.
