Rated 5 out of 5Â by ralph Easy install!
After reading prior reviews about how hard it was to install I was a bit surprised at how easy it went. Took about three hours, It was an attic install replacing an existing light fixture with the fan. Had to demo out the old electrical box and bracket then layout new hole to be 1-1/2" away from truss. I screwed a couple of 2' 2x4s to the fan and plunked it down over the hole. Shot some screws up thru the drywall into the 2x4s and screwed one 2x4 into the truss. Hardest part was the electrical. I only had one circuit, Fan's set up for 3: fan ; lights, nightlight. So I had to cut off all the EZ connectors, strip and wire nut back to the existing circuit. That while laying in 12" of fiberglass. I didn't use the screws that came with. I just used 2-1/2" deck screws. I would advise against using this fan on a first floor install as it is rather tall and likely wouldn't fit the joist height. Check the spec tab for dimensions. I find it sufficiently quiet. Good $100 fan! Just grab a 2x4-8 and some 2-1/2" deck screws when you pick up the pipe.

i dont get the bad reviews, this thing is super quiet , easy to install (maybe because i am a electrician) and totally removes the steam from my 12'Ã6' bathroom.would definitely recommend.

The product is not the easiest to install. The side mounted wire harness, required cutting the sheetrock larger than the finished fan and doing some patch work. I also installed an additional 2x4 on the side of the fan not against the ceiling joist.
With that being said. This fan is quiet. This fan provides good light. This fan is cheaper than most of the fans that move the same CFM.
I do recommend this fan, as the product itself does work and is quiet.
Just take a little extra care when installing and remember once it is up, it is up.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by ToughtoPlease Quiet but very poor design
This fan is quiet, works well. I do have to agree that it is designed for new construction. Have fun trying to take it back out to change it if it stops working. What's with the six inch hole, hope I never have to go back to 4". Electrically it was easy to install.
I would definitely look at a different product if your looking to buy one. I would have taken it back if it wasn't such a timely trip to get to the store.
Also, spring clips were attached that will not hold light and trim. Nothing about them in the instructions.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by DAVIDONE THE SIDE OF THIS FAN COMES OFF FOR INSTALLATION
THE SIDE WITH THE EXHAUST COMES OFF WITH THE THREE SCREWS ON THE INSIDE LIP. THEN THE FAN IS INSTALLED AND THE SIDE PUT BACK ON. IT DOESN'T SAY ANYTHING IN THE INSTRUCTIONS BUT IT IS PICTURED IN THE PARTS SECTION
