Not only does this fan look terrific, the DC motor is absolutely quiet. I picked up the first one in a Home Depot after a storm ripped off part of my roof, thereby destroying the existing fan in my master bedroom. The wingspan and "look" were the primary factors in choosing this model initially. The second fan is installed in my "Man Cave" and the third will also go in there.
The install is standard for a ceiling fan and was complete within an hour. Although the fan is supplied with a balancing kit, I did not need to use it for either of the two fans have installed so far. I can set the fan to it's top speed (6) and can only barely see a slight flutter in the blades.
When I purchased the original unit, I didn't expect to find that the remote was "required". This is the one aspect that the purchaser should be aware of. The manufacturer recommends that the light switch (if present) not be used to turn the fan on and off. Some folks have reported issues with the remotes failing, though I have not experienced this in either of the two I have in place (the older being in place for 9 months)
I still use the light switch and the remote for both fans and have not had any negative impact; in fact the light switch can be used to activate and deactivate fan features as well as the remote. (According to what I have read, the remote may become "un-paired" from the fan and a reset procedure may be required (described in the manual) when doing this, though this has not occurred so far.

I spoke with the manufacturer in early 2013 when my fan was first being installed. The first thing they recommend is bypassing your wall on/off switch. As this fan works only via remote control, having it wired to a switch could confuse it.
My fan recently seemed to lose the connection with the remote control. The battery checked out okay. I figured there was a method to re-sync it so I called the manufacturer and got the instructions and it worked. In my case I turned off the breaker to cut power to the fan. 1. Cut power to the fan. Wait at least 20 seconds. Restore power to the fan. 2. Keep your eyes up on the fan, hold down the FAN OFF button on the remote, in a few seconds you'll see the fan light blink twice. 3. Release the FAN OFF button. 4. Your remote is now re-synced with the fan and all should be well. NOTE: Inside the battery compartment, that button inside is to reverse the direction of the fan, that's what that does.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by fabfive5 This fan blows....no air.
Purchased fan for our grand room. Installation was not hard. Appearance was excellent. Turned it on and it calibrated and then turned off...over and over again. Called Home Depot and they thought it was the remote causing issues.
Returned the fan and tried one more time with a new one. Two screws stripped with average tork, with one having the head come off. CHEAP. Fan worked but moved less air on high than my 42" fan on medium. The guy at the store essentially said I installed it too high. I do not think my head needs to be 4 inches away from the fan to feel it!
Returned fan again, went to L0wes and purchased Harbor Breeze 60" fan. Installed it in about the same time. Quality was better, packaged neater, looked as good, $40 cheaper, and moved TONS of air. Has "breeze" setting that changes speed to mimic natural breeze.
The ONLY things I liked about the Victoria were the fan design and remote design. Functionally wise it was horrific.

Purchased 3 of these fans for our home with 12 ft ceilings. Each with different length drop rods. The fans move a lot of air, but after a month 2 of them make noise so far. Only went with this one due to the blade size, otherwise the remotes are more trouble than they are worth. We also purchased a different model for 3 other bedrooms with no problems at all, none of them had remotes. Will be looking for new ceiling fans to replace the Victoria. Had an electrician do the installation too, will cost more to replace these.

This fan is big and it moves a large volume of air. Perfect for large room with high celings.
