As the saying goes, you get what you pay for and this inexpensive umbrella is poorly made. As other reviewers stated, the tilting mechanism is flawed and mine failed shortly after purchase. The material used for the umbrella, that you can virtually see through, is the cheapest fabric I've ever seem used for an umbrella (this is not evident from the on-line photos). Buy something else and see it in person unless you have previous experience with the manufacturer.

Disposable. Broke in two places the first year. Pretty, but useless when the pieces that hold the umbrella straight broke and popped out, fell on the ground. i called hamptom bay and got nowhere fast. threw it in the trash.

The overall quality of the umbrella is similar to low-cost equipment found in discount stores. I was unpleasantly surprised with the construction techniques (cheap rivets and the mechanism to raise/lower the umbrella) along with the materials used - overall I could not recommend this purchase. On a related note, the Captiva II table/chair set, for which this umbrella was purchased, is reasonably well made and seems much more durable.

Faded in months the tilt button broke,, so, the umbrella wouldn't stay up right and to top that off I had to sew the fabric back together.
