Runs both the A/C and microwave...while everything else is turned on in my RV. It never even seems like it's working hard at all...absolutely sound investment. On the subject of "sound" it IS a little bit loud (but not very...just being selfish). If Subaru put a more functional muffler/resonator on this thing it would be that "Ten" we're all looking for. Right out of the box, it started on the first gentle pull. Amazing. That's it.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by George RIDGID 3600 WATT SUBARU POWERED GENERATOR
I haven't yet used this other than fill oil & gas and start it up. The SUBARU engine started on the very 1st pull. The lcd display toggles through displays of voltage 125V, cycles 62 per sec and time running. This generator purportedly produces clean power (safe for electronics). I bought this primarily to power a sump pump and a refrigerator during power outages. Motors on refrigerators, air conditioners, and sump pumps frequently require start up wattages of up to 3 times the rated running wattage. In my case I will use only one appliance at a time as overloading the generator can damage it.

First winter living in the burbs and the news predicts a bad ice storm. I run out to Home Depot to get a generator, they tell me there are none left. I check and there are a few dusty display models, so I get the cheapest one. I had all intention of returning it and getting a different one if I didn't use it. The next morning at 7am, our power goes out, 700k people out in PA. I had read some of the instruction manual the night before so I knew where to fill the oil. This thing started on the first pull....every time and ran almost non-stop for the 4 1/2 days we didn't have power. The only way I'm getting rid of this is if we get a bigger one.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by JonW Reliable, easy to use, great instructions, does the job
Bought the Ridgid 3600 because it has a great engine and sturdy frame. I use the generator for emergency powerloss at home! It is about average when it comes to loudness, it's not a Honda but about 1/3 the price. Easy to move, easy to operate, large tank size, just enough power to run all the essentials. The real down side to this unit is the size, it is much larger than similar generators because it has an extremely sturdy and protective frame. The directions were easy to follow and the whole unit was set up in 15 min. I would recommend this unit!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Ryan Great generator for emergency or job site use.
I bought this generator for my father last week when the powerful storms tore Ohio, WV, PA and VA apart. We ran two freezers, a refrigerator some lights and even a small air conditioner (varying loads of course) with it. It seems well built and a good buy for the price. It only produces 125 volts and does not have the 230 volt plug due to its size but it worked great for his needs. He was without commercial power for over a week and this generator kept his food cold and his lights on. I am a Power Production (generator specialist) technician and Electrician by trade and I would definitely recommend this unit for emergency/portable use. It comes with the break in oil and started up on the FIRST pull! It's a little thirsty at full load but thats the price you pay for convenience.
